Want to have a track of outdoors and indoors temperatures. Where is the best place to permanently mount wireless sensor outside the vehicle? My best bet is somewhere under the hood. Doesn't matter it will be hotter during the ride. Want it primarily for camping when ignition is off.

Wireless signal and metal don't work too well.
How big is the wireless unit and how is it powered? Is it waterproof?
Maybe a good place would be under the plastic grill below the windscreen, where the windscreen wiper motor etc: is located.

Is the standard thermometer not good enough , or does a beach does not have it?

With ignition off it doesn't.

Another plus on a SE/ Ocean . Got one on dash AND on the control panel witch works all the time;)

Was already tinking the diffrent controlpanel in a beach did not have a thermometer , now confirmed.

Beach doesn't have a control panel. Yes a 5$ thermometer is a reason to get a 250kg "almost" kitchen :D
Need a humidity sensor as well so no Ocean for me.

You need one of these,

Ahhhh!
After 3 years, I just found out the control panel can show me the outside temperature without having to turn on the ignition (which means getting out of bed & also turns on the bright DRLs & sets off the engine heater in cold weather...).

So - THANK YOU hotel california!

But the temperature indicator on the dash won't work without the ignition, will it?

I find stepping outside tends to give me the weather, while the kettle is boiling on the built in kitchen for my breakfast tea.. I think iKea do a weather station and should match your iKea unit.

That's correct.

Yea forum needs a "d1ck" budge :D

I think it would be a lot better to help the poster with his problem rather than harp on about the superiority of your SE/Ocean. Jealousy will get you nowhere and one day you might appreciate some informative advice from a member who, heaven forbid, might own a Beach:thumb
