Blimey - these continuing issues on brand new vehicles are soul destroying.

If you're asking is it OK? - then clearly not sadly.

Try putting it down/up a few times first...

It's not the 1st april is it ?
Is someone while collecting a Cali , standing at the dealer asking advise on the forum about a wonky roof ....someone wake me up !
We reached the next level ....

Very very poor sevice from that dealer !

My reason for asking is to avoid being fed any dealer ''fairytails'

It's wrong! Don't dealers do a check prior to the customer hand over. If I was the salesman I'd be somewhat embarrassed.
Please let us know what story they tell you!

Story so far is that the salesman checked it prior to me coming in (have no reason to doubt that) and was demonstrating the roof when he picked up the issue, not me.

He asked the California specialist who explained the need to sometimes take it up and down a few times. He tried a few times and got a bit wary of overheating it. It's now with the technicians!

Well at least they didn't try to feed you a load of B******t.
Could be due to any number of reasons. That's why there is a Warranty after all. Sounds a decent Dealership, so far.

Hi

Not correct. Our roof had that problem & needed a major fix over several days.
Covered by warranty. The bill would have been £1600+

Have you downloaded the VIP download checklist for collecting T6 ?

Sorry - just noticed the '2017' vehicle bit so not brand new but even so...

Thanks all. Dealer was honest and said they could get it to open and shut but it wasn't doing so evenly and they weren't happy with it. Clearly something needs replacing.

Given that it did open and shut once without problems, then they highlighted the issue to me, is not something I'm blaming them to much for.

I'm therefore now journeying home in a loaned Combi and they're on the case of fixing it and delivering it to me by next Friday when we go on holiday. Fingers crossed...

Oh, and yes, did use the T6 checklist and also the 2017 brochure download.

As the standard fix seems to involve replacement of expensive hydraulic parts, you are likely to be getting a good deal. An overhauled roof. Better now than in 2 years and out of warranty.
