Then took the rear wheels off just to unstick them. Not overly stuck. Then noticed that my side door has again grazed my wheel arch.

Surrounded by mountains. Walked into village and found pizza place and patisserie so had to indulge and a beer or two while waiting. Back to the van and opened a bottle.

We live in a town 70km from the sea so we use the Beach as a way to get to the ocean more. Being close to the sea has it's downsides though. Yesterday we had 18C degrees, quite ok for April.
We loaded the California and went down to coastal town Varberg (Swedens windsurfing place no:1).
We have 100km to drive and saw the temperature drop constantly the closer to the sea we got.
When we arrived it was 11.5C degrees and quite windy:

I almost liked to go home again. Well, we took a walk on the beach

Great picture @kave ! Did you take it with a drone? Gopro karma or DJI Mavic?
I guess close to the sea is quite similar to close to the mountains (temperature drops quite a bit).

200 mile trip along the Pyrenees today running close to the border. Stunning mountain roads, over four Cols, hardly any traffic and glorious weather.
Arrived at our house about an hour ago.
Still 2m of snow on the top of the ski area. One of the still open here.

Driven from Moffat then on to Kennacraig, got off the ferry at Islay. JoJo's first sea voyage. She didn't make a peep unlike others that were squealing and honking in the car decks.

Sorry for the late reply, started boarding half an hour after that photo, only 5 artics, around 10 private cars and a Transit towing a Dethlefs caravan, however swarms of foot passengers.
After a very smooth crossing, we disembarked and headed for outside of Arnhem, a site in Wolfheze, a cracking serviced pitch, free showers and 16€ per night. Did some battlefield tourism and cycled a circular down to Nijmegen and back.
Then headed for Oudenaarde in Belgium to cycle some of the climbs on de Ronde Van Vlanderen. Stayed 4 nights at a water ski/outdoor activities centre, 10€, free showers but no electrics, California managed that OK though.
Onto Ypres or Ieper for 2 Nights, Menen Gate last post on the Monday evening and cycle out to Mesines Ridge via Hill 60 the following day and return again on a circular to see more of the countryside.
Onto Bastogne on the Wednesday, Jacque's Wood and Foy (Easy Coy memorial). Cycle into Luxembourg the next day, all downhill the way out and you can guess what on the return. However any 'Spurs' that we encountered had dedicated cycling tunnels cut through them so no huge climbs encountered.
We left the following day and after a short excursion into Luxembourg, brimmed the tank at 99 cents per litre (trip odometer showed 713 miles, first refuel since leaving Clackmannanshire). Carried on to Verdun, stopped for lunch, then an epic drive up through Belgium (Friday afternoon traffic, haven't had a driving stint like that since I was in the Army, 5+ hours without a break) to Bondues, just north of Roubaix for the finish of the Paris/Roubaix (Hell of the North) cycle race. Another excellent fully serviced pitch for 15€ per night.
On the Monday homeward bound in slower time, stopped off at Camper Centrum, on Wim's suggestion, quite glad I did, excellent setup there, vehicles and 'goodies', even had an overnight on their forecourt.
Absolutely delighted with the California over the 17 days, AppConnect with Apple maps is probably the best satnav I've ever used. Can't wait for the next adventure. Trust I haven't sent you to sleep with the length of this reply.

PS Just booked a couple of nights at Torvean in Inverness for the Etape Loch Ness, after the continental prices, feel like I'm buying the damm pitch there for a whole week and not just the 2 nights.

That sounded like an epic trip. Our trip to Islay and then onto Skye will be our longest trip out thus far. Two weeks at the end of July but not sure where to go. Might head down to Devon way and get solar fitted.
