Yellow California Beach Club

In the early days of the T5 there was a drive by VW to promote the Sunny Yellow 'Beach'. The Beach was a throw back to the earlier VW campervans of the 60's and &70's with their bright colours; I owned an orange and white T2 'Bay Window' in the 80's.

When I bought my Sunny Yellow Beach in 2013,nearly every VW dealer had one for sale, as VW promoted the Beach as a basic campervan and I believe most dealers had to have a yellow Beach demonstrator on display. Now the idea of a flexible campervan without built-in sink, fridge etc. is popular there is no need to promote it anymore; hence the demise of the flagship yellow Beach and dealers can now decide on the colour of their Beach demonstrator..

I went back to UK this year (I live in NZ); there were no yellow Beach demonstrators for sale, so I've bought a Mojave Beige Beach. Mrs G is most upset at changing yellow for gold: One will have to go very soon!

It's all a matter of taste. Sunny Yellow looks much better on a California compared to VW Beetle due to area of dark glass.

Wasn't so keen on Grape Yellow, hence purchase of Mojave Beige (Champagne :)) to replace current Beach.
I think you should sell on the Mojave and keep the yellow - no brainer really

That's a possibility, but the DSG, Climatronic and parking heater are nice to have. There again, the yellow Beach has Xenons, double glazing, cruise control and looks better.....

ps Like the Quadrophenia quote.

My UK neighbours - temporarily living in Spain - have just turned up home for Christmas in their yellow LHD T6 Beach.

One day... maybe one day!
Dave... it’s only been a few weeks & you were right!
Boxing Day in Glencoe Mountain Sports car park - 1st Grape Yellow Cali Beach I’ve ever seen. Sx60 xxx. Bike rack & roof rack. It did look smart. Nobody in it to wave to though...

Yes! You spotted the rare beastie! :)

Popped in to SKI tyres Cheltenham for the winter boots to be swapped over - managed to get down to Lulworth for an overnight / walking break - can recommend the Weld Arms pub in East Lulworth - very friendly people / good food / good beer and allowed us to stay in their secluded parking area - two wheel drive but the winter tyres make quite a difference in the snow.IMG_5011.JPG IMG_5010.JPG IMG_4935.JPG IMG_5030.JPG

I loved our subtle creamy yellow T5 and love our current loud splashy yellow T6. We get constant positive comments from people about our yellow T6 wherever we go ... never got many comments about our T5.

My Sunny Yellow Beach has been sold to a great couple in Nelson, South Island, NZ who are picking it up on Friday. Mrs G is very upset to see it go.:(

Hugo; you may finally get to see the only Yellow Beach in NZ. There are now two Beach's, but separated by the Cook Strait. I must admit the Mojave Beige is quite boring, so planning on some earache/grief from other half.

Yellow Beach has been sold:Depressed

If i could buy a new one in Sunny Yellow I would do. Can you buy a custom colour T6 from VW in Sunny Yellow rather than Grape?
