California Beach Heritage Red Edition

I know what you mean, I also own a large vehicle with modern air suspension. It was more the body roll reduction for me.

The ocean might wallow a little more with extra weight but it’s probably just my driving - keen and eager to get to camping destinations :Stig:oops::Grin

I agree with my 2017 (67) Beach also handling well, however I have never owned a Cali before.....

I am however booked in for lowering, just to save my heart and neck when driving into Intu Watford(that never sounds right)

Ok so the Diesel Heating is fitted by Exploria to factory standard. Both Inlet and Exit grilles x2 are VW factory parts. The Webasto 7-Day Timer/On-Off Control is permanently fixed in a great position next to rear bench seat/Lower Bed. It heats the van in minutes and I am a very happy man. They were willing to fit the additional temp sensor for free my choice. They only fit them in about 5% of cases as they believe the system works better using the inlet sensor and that temp difference is marginal and easily adjusted for. Plus another panel would have to have been drilled.

This van must stand you at some serious money now buddy you ain’t shy of spending on it I’ll give you that!!!!!

Re a note above its now the California Ocean Red special edition I am copying but the Caravelle Gen 6 is very similar so either works!

Thanks for that appreciated.

I don't understand those that offer criticism of owners modification decisions. Just do what you like with YOUR OWN van and comment if you like other peoples choices.
soz dude. think I'd had a few. any forums running with breathalyser access?

Well actually as posted before I am still only at about £47000 and the list price with just the factory options fitted is £51500 before ALL the additions I have made (£5500 ish) . It makes sense to buy a very low mileage demonstrator van that's for sure as if I had factory ordered and then added the aftermarket stuff I would be at £57000 so still £10000 quids in and the van of my choice. :)

A further note is that Exploria replace the entire front step if you want the factory look inlet grille. This adds £50 which is well worth it imho.

They also ensured that the exhaust exit was pointing at the non door side rather than straight down to reduce fumes should an awning be attached when using the heater. The heater is in the factory position under the van (approximately under drivers seat adjacent to the Webasto Engine Heater which is approximately under the passenger seat) but the exhaust exists around the middle of the van.

I don't get why they wouldnt fit the temp sensor every time in a VW T5/6, as someone who has used one for a year the temp difference isnt marginal via the intake when its cold weather, its a good 6 or 7c out from my experience and varies depending on the temperature to start. If it was a couple of degrees I'd maybe worry. Its certainly enough to be drying my eyes and melting my face off haha. If the temp setting isnt accurate may as well just be a 1-5 and a timer from Webasto design wise.

Let me know how you get on with the setup and how good the temp control is.

Nice installation looks great, its definitely a brilliant addition and I wouldnt be without one again.

Well I went on their advice so we shall see. Anyway I have a Temp Gauge in the back so will compare after testing on a few trips to see what the difference is. At the shop the Webasto was set for 17c after testing etc and MY gauge on the other side of the bench area behind front passenger seat also read 17c. (I have to admit it felt warmer than 17)

Well in my first test I set the temp to 20c and waited 15 minutes it warmed up quickly and soon my temp gauge was showing 20c also at about the same level.

Nano Pod next - they have agreed to fit a lug into the table/work-surface that the campinggaz burner base will locate in holding it firm/safe while in use.
