** Important News: New Vehicle Registrations on Hold

Just spoke to Jay.

No real new news. He said he is in again tomorrow so will ring if there is an update and he said there is still time today too as VW do sometimes send out late bulletins too.

He said that he is expecting to start moving vehicles 24 hours after they get notification and that all additional transport is in place and waiting for the OK. He reiterated that VW are VERY keen to get these vehicles moving to the UK and to their owners ASAP.

Wait and see again :)

Hello, have you had the chance to talk to Jay ??

Do you think that ... there are other VW customers in Italy who are waiting for their T6 Cali ... and as they are registered in a Facebook group called: Volkswagen California t6 t5 BEACH & OCEAN
Well ... now I have become their reference to learn the latest news regarding the issue of delays in registrations and emissions.
I have also communicated the existence of this interesting and fundamental forum to them ... but apparently and I think for translation problems I have not seen any of them in here yet !!
Vabbeh ... I'm here and I hope not to stress you ... :happy ...

No further info yet. He said news is expected any moment and that they have made sure they have reduced the logistics times of getting the vehicles to the dealers in preparation.

I reiterated to him my concerns about vehicle registration post 1st April due to the VED rises and he did reaffirm that VW will cover costs of additional first year VED if this happens, although he is very hopeful that the vehicles will be with dealers and customers before 1st Apr.

Although we want ours as soon as possible, even if it arrives at the dealer end of march and they register it on 29th, 30th or 31st, then we collect the following week that suits me fine.

I'll check that group out as facebook has a good translate function on it

My dealer is still saying my build slot is next week and delivery about a month later... Might miss Easter in the Cali this year but starting to get hopeful of lovely springtime!

The first day of April is Easter !! Three days around with a new Cali would be the best !!

I agree, but we're fortunate as we sold our car in prep for delivery of the cali and now it's delayed VW have given us a loan Cali. This means the pressure is off us really in terms of (a) having transport and (b) having a Cali to camp in!

We have absolutely no complains about VW and their handling of this situation with us personally, I know others will feel differently.

VW have put us in a Mitsubishi shogun which i don’t mind in this weather. However, with a build week of 52 and expected delivery date of 1st week in Feb, we are now in danger of missing our first two trips away camping the last two weeks of March! Could really do with hearing something soon.

Have you told Jay this? We too were in danger of missing out on our first two camping trips and we'd sold our car in preparation and he immediately sorted out a loan vehicle for us. One phone call.

Update: Just spoke to Jay (12:26 am). Still unable to confirm the KBA have approved the implementation of the 'technical solution' to make the affected engines compliant with the Euro 6 RWTs. As per last 2 weekly updates from Jay he again states he is expecting the 'green light' to be given soon.

In my opinion I seem to detect his tone is less re-assuring then in my previous updates, and there may be issues that he is not allowed to reveal. To be fair I did not push him hard for an detailed explanation of why the date keeps slipping, as I feel he would have told me if he was in a position to do so.

As an aside: There is no VED increase in post April. The only increase would be if our vehicles failed the RTW. If that was to be the case then VW are liable for the one off £400 increase in VED, not we customers who purchased the Vans on the understanding they will be fully compliant with the Euro 6 test regime. This is because there has been no change to VED rates and how emissions are to be assessed post September 2017, which I assume is when most of us placed our orders and are still waiting for our Cali's.

The dealer came through with a small gift to placate me while I stew waiting for my bus. 5 Invitations to the Salon de l'Auto :) A small, but nice touch. Looking forward to see if they have a 2018 (or 19??) Cali on display to buy. Ha!

Had a chat with a service guy at my VW van centre today and subtly brought up the current T6 Cali situation, he was fairly adamant no fix has been found yet.
I hope Jay is right about an imminent fix but I would not put any money on it.

There certainly taking a long time??
It must be a big issue not just a re program???
A massive bummer for people who were expecting there new vans by now .

I was supposed to pick up my new T6 Ocean 150 DSG today. Dealer won't release it for the same (unspecified) reasons as those waiting and watching in this forum. A little bit of honesty would have been appreciated, but instead we sit and wait hoping to be told the truth and still receive the vehicle we specified. I remain optimistic we will receive them, but the lack of transparency is concerning.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's the KBA holding it up simply not giving it preferential attention. Whats important to yhem s that VW aren't churning them out onto the streets, so no further urgency.
If it's anything like authorities in this country that are in a position of power where challenging them only makes things worse, then I guess they are simply not bothered about VW's dilemma.
Dare a football manager call out a referees decision or challenge them for example?

VW need and want the best outcome and aren't going to jeopardise anything more. But their customer focus on this is poor and seems like thats nothing new.....
I may have thought harder about buying a California myself if I knew of the way they fail to communicate when issues arise. But they aren't alone in that either.....

I feel your pain .
Hope things get sorted soon,
If you go back to the start of this thread apparently it was only the 150 manual affected according to some people... so much speculation and hearsay at times between people on forums who are jumping to conclusions, It’s about time you all got facts from vw it’s a good job you’re all very patient.i wouldn’t be I’d be riding round in a pre reg by now ;)

Just for clarity, is it actually at the dealer now or still sitting in Germany??
Sat at the UK dealer. It was delivered early..somehow came though on a 2 month order turnaround, but we had agreed a Mar pickup date at order (for an 18 plate). How much do I regret that now! There again, the issue may be so severe that it changes what I purchased, or even devalues it. Who knows....not even VW....so they say

I think the fact that it’s winter is very fortunate. I wouldn’t be so patient if the sun was shining. Actually quite pleased that I haven’t picked up my van as planned this week. Can’t imagine worse weather to take delivery of a new car!
