Switch/valve in the gas bottle compartment

THX a lot.
It means there are two drain valves. One for fresh and second for dark water. Am I right?

Yes that's right one for fresh and the grey water one in the cupboard under sink

I have one more question regarding water pump. Is there any time or volume limit, how long this pump can be operated?

Not sure exactly what you mean. The Fresh Water Tank holds 30L.
No time limit on running the pump but DO NOT run it with no water in the tank. Pump will seize.

The pump runs off the Cali leisure batteries (you can get a spare one from th club shop) I’ve not read of any problems with them - though best to empty fresh water tank via the drain valve rather than via the the tap to save wear and tear on the pump :thumb

I am cleaning fresh water tank right now and I thought to use this water to clean gray water tank as well.
But I was not sure if pump can run for long time.

These small pumps have a duty cycle and they are cooled by the water they are in. I would not run it for more than 5 minutes without resting for 10.

There was a data sheet for a similar whale pump posted on the forum somewhere.

Just found this on the Whale site for this type of pump
For best performance:
  • Maximum continuous operation should not exceed 15 minutes
  • Do not run pump dry as it will cause pump damage
  • Do not use to pump water that is over 60oc
  • We recommend the pump stands vertically in the tank
  • Before switching on, place the pump in water and shake for a few seconds to release trapped air. This will ensure successful priming and should be repeated after refilling the water tank
  • Add an in-line pump into a system to boost water flow

For sure I will do it every time :)

Bay the way, where is located water pump? Is there easy access?
How is conected the external shower, to the same water pump or there is separate one?

My Cali is w/o shower but I would like to add it. And I am not sure If I need extra pump or is the same with extra connection?

Well 15 minutes will certainly empty my tank.:thumb

The Californias with a Shower connection just use the 1 Pump. There is a "T" connection then serving the Tap and the Shower connection.
The Shower Connection has a switch to operate the Pump.

So Shower Closed - Tap on and water flows through Tap.

Tap Closed - Shower on and water flows through Shower.

If both Tap and Shower are Open then water would flow from both.

The Forum Shop sells a Shower attachment that fits on the Kitchen Tapand then used outside Kitchen window.

I know you can use tap to connect shower, but I do not like this idea. I would like to have shower in the rear section to clean neopreen suite after surfing. :)
It should be easy to add this feature.

Whale produce portable/submersible pumps too perhaps it refers to them?

Tom
Agree with that as during my caravanning years all whale pumps came with those instructions. Pump goes into the portable water container hence the tilting instructions to keep the pump in the water.

Usually built in water tanks have an external pump rather than an internal submersible type. Never tried looking at my Cali to see how the water is connected/fed through to the tap.

Submersible type pump, exactly the same as the Whale submersible. In fact you can use a Whale equivalent as a replacement. If the tank has water whilst travelling then the vehicle motion would get rid of any air lock.

I have new problem related to water system. Previous owner was an idiot or something near to this.

Fresh water level works perfectly. But grey not at all. I found where the sensor is and the sensor is screw by big plastic nut with sensor or this nut is a part of the sensor. Anyhow, previous idiot destroyed this nut and 2,5 walls of this nut is damaged.
Question is, this sensor with nut can be removed or is put there forever.

That is really helpful. I gues it cost something like 200EUR.

The component with number 4. Anyone was able to open this? There is special way to open it or I have no enough strength?
