What have you bought for your Cali today :-)

UPS - got new wheels from Mathew (T5 Upgrades). Suits the 4 Motion well.

Black Rhino Warlord Gun Metal. 17 x 8". The tyres are Michelin Lattitude Cross 235x55R17 103H XL - after +5.000 km I am very pleased minimal extra road noise and ruddle. They are the original size, so no worries if I need to use the spare. Of cause I would get a little extra ground clearance on a "taller" tyre. But excess is limited to 5% in Denmark anyway.

Took a leaf out of @Elly Swanson book. 2 x Dunhelm Marvel Mats (£24 each). Managed to cover the rear and 2 front seat mats with some careful cutting. No fraying, non-slip, cut with sturdy scissors. Excellent value at £48 all in. Couldn’t bring myself to pay the going rate for the Brandrup’s etc. See pics of rugs below.

Hey, that looks great, Jodalo. The mats that is, not Trumps hair!

A word of warning/caution though. The first few outings, be ready with a vacuum cleaner to get all the fluff out. Otherwise, they are a good bang for the buck. :thumb

You can brush the fluff out but it takes ages. First time we hoovered I thought “OMG” if this keeps happening it’ll just be a rubber mat”! But after the second hoovering all was fine and it stopped.

New Boots. 4 Michelin CrossClimate SUVs. Local garage £140 each fitted. Was thinking of the Agilis version but eventually figured if I was planning on going where snow chains were actually needed I’d get some used wheels and get proper winter/off road tyres.
Also had Haldex Pump & filter replacement for the 4motion system. I’ll do separate post on that one!!!!

New upper mattress and sheet, Ridge monkey connect combo. Also filled up the fuel for the first time since I bought it

£35 USB rechargeable FM/DAB radio. Saves draining the starter battery!
I'm in the market for one myself, would you recommend that one? I had a nice Pure one that gave up the ghost after about 7 years service, I tried to get the same model but they don't make it any more. Have had disappointing experiences with two different Majority models since, neither of which lasted more than 3 months (admittedly the second one may or may not have fallen into a bucket of water, although it was supposed to be waterproof!).

It’s currently on its first weekend of use and so far I’m impressed. No reception issues. Sufficient volume for the van. It’s so much cheaper than the equivalent pure radio.

If you want to spend a bit more money (£110) Go for the Roberts Stream 94i. See pic below. FM/DAB/Internet Radio/Bluetooth player/Remote controller. Fantastic sound quality plus many other features. Battery pack sold separately. Something you can enjoy at home too. We use it in the Cali with the Bluetooth player, which gives a really good sound quality without using the starter battery. And no I’m not connected with Roberts.

Not exactly bought, because I didn't have to pay.

Thank you SMG Cowfold. Two new timbre doors (wardrobe and back cupboard), to replace the split ones held together with tape (the wardrobe door in particular). And a new awning to replace the seriously creased one.

Excellent service, if a bit of a trek from home. Well worth finding somewhere that understands the California's foibles.

Clearly a lot higher quality than mine. Can you charge it in the cali?

Yeah if you have the battery pack and you are on EHU, you plug the charge lead into the mains socket and charge whilst you listen. It’s always difficult recommending things but if you check out ‘what hi-if’ mag, it gets 5 stars. You can also control it via your smartphone with an App.
