Noticed your table and did a search, opened up a whole world of neat smaller tables! May have to steal that idea. Tweaking and improving is never ending!!!

Yes we built ours from a post on this group, there is a massive thread and also lots of details of what parts to buy and how to build the one like ours.

We were concerned the fridge might force us to get rid of the table but it's all good.

Not as Stealthy as some on here but we’re on a budget and so have gone for practicality with a 200w panel with Bluetooth MPPT controller for only £255. Panel fits the width of the roof channels perfectly too so easy to pop on and off if needed.

Mud Flaps

For anyone with this type of Mud flap: Warning

a Poster in the T6 forum advised that his old van had these fitted, the front leading edge at the bottom of the doors started to rust!
it was due to the door rubbing on the plastic Mud flap
Various other posters confirmed the same thing.

I checked on mine today, the Gap between the bottom of the door and the top of the mud flaps where the sit over the cill is very small, possibly touching.
There has been no damage to the paint on the door edge in the short time I have had them fitted, but as a precaution I removed the front ones.

As a precaution I may adjust them by removing some of the plastic to resolve any potential future issue with the door rubbing on the plastic (or I may leave them off)

also when removing the Fronts I was aware that the void was full of sludge
and water so I will probably add a couple of decent size drainage holes
where they will not be visible.


I cannot find the thread in the T6 forum now which is typical, I will post a link if I find it.

Spent 13.99£ on these, so called, car tracks for mud etc. I thought that they could be a worthwhile investment this coming week after a month of rain hitting the grass campsite we are going to stay at. Thinking of placing under two wheels, or ramps if used, They appear to be reasonably robust for the size and slip out of the way under the sliding boot shelf. How they actually perform under 3 tonnes of German steel is anyones guess.

Look good. I'm sure they will work. Even thick sheets of cardboard can help spread the load in muddy situations. Why have l bought a 4MOTION ?

I have similar ones (Fiamma). They do well! They already got me out of some difficult positions.

There was a guy trying to use them on a Great White yesterday but the wheels just spat them out, after half the campsite tried to push him out (myself included) he ended up being towed off. My Cali went on and off the field leaving only bent grass so I think it was purely a weight issue

Couple of tent pegs might have kept them in place?

Thanks for reminding me that I need to put one in my bike bag. Last time I went cycling and lost my way I used my goggle map to get me back on the route but it said head west. I did not know which way was west and started going the wrong way.

Nice to have a proper compass but just for future reference, Google Maps does have an inbuilt compass.

Hi Gareth, how is the panel attached to the roof grooves ? can't quite see from the photo. Looks good.

Drilled 4 corner holes and bolt straight onto the roof groves with t -track bolts. Having a panel exactly the same width as the tracks made the fitting easy.

Great looking Judd [?] wheels, apart from their strong technical merits, they are, IMO, a perfect choice for an Indium Grey van. Also like the easy access they offer to the barrels etc for cleaning. Are yours a staggered setup?
BTW your van is a perfect image of our direction of travel. Ours is also Indium Grey with the factory chrome pack. Mods to date are the VW rear spoiler and angular side bars, a suspension upgrade by CRS at Cannock which included beefed up ARBs, and Heko deflectors. Internally, for comfort and convenience we have fitted the Brandrup MkVI Isotop, the extra kitchen drawers and the rear sliding drawer kit, all from Campervanbits. We have also had a 35% tint applied over the factory tinted hab windows which improved the privacy but still lets light in. Just the wheels and a front lip spoiler to go on the wish list....
