New T6.1 order delays

No van still Wogga - on Friday it’ll be 12 months since I ordered...
Thanks yes I heard the apps are lame, though I hear MY22 WeConnect is slightly better (eg can lock/unlock).
I thought it might be interesting to track my build as the VIN appears etc, but I can even see MyVolkswagen app in the App Store...
Its the VW WE Connect app still Tim well that's what I am using on my iPhone, MyVW was only through web browsers I think, not that it works at the moment.

Hi. We order from Liverpool in February and have had an almost identical experience to you. Like you all I wanted was a rough estimate so that we could book holidays. The latest from the dealer was a month ago when they told us it was going to be built I. October but since then we have heard nothing. I understand there have been issues with COVID and parts but the customer service VW have provided had been very poor.
Hi all. So we took the plunge earlier in the year, threw caution to the wind, ignored the eye-watering price tag and ordered a T6.1 California a couple of weeks before lock-down from VW vans (Liverpool). Since then there have been a number of delays and further delays in the delivery date. Apparently VW (Germany) cannot give any firm build and delivery dates. It appears that when it is built it receives a chassis number and then its progress to the dealer can be tracked. We were originally given mid-May for delivery to the dealer which included 4 weeks from issue of chassis number to delivery to the dealer. Since then we have had several revisions to the predicted delivery date, the latest being end of July / beginning of August which is perilously close to the issue of new registrations on 1st September. Apparently the time from issue of chassis number to delivery to the dealer, 8 weeks is now being quoted not the previous 4 weeks. According to the dealer VW are not giving even any rough indications of build completions or delivery to dealer. Come on VW (Germany), where is the communication with the dealer and customer service here. It can't be that difficult to work out and convey this information. You are leaving customers in limbo and causing worry. The news may not be good but at least communicate it so people can plan / cancel camp sites or even cancel the order. After all by September 1st the season is nearly over. I wondered if anyone else is having similar experiences? Kind regards, David and Helen.

I posted a question about We Connect Plus and data usage with an Ocean in another post on this forum in the summer, here is the link, if anyone has any experience of the system, thanks.

Ordered my ocean 4motion january 22nd this year and today had a call from my dealer in manchester (who has been brilliant all the way through ) to tell me i now have a VIN number !! Which means its started its journey for being made. I am aware and read this post daily and know there are plenty more chances for delays but just to get this news is like i won the lottery lol > who would have thought someone reading out a VIN number could elate such joy............. keep the faith these moments do actually finally arrive to everyone waiting, though im saving the total joy for when it goes up my driveway !!

For those asking about the MyVolkswagen login...I setup an account for MyVolkswagen after reading on here that in the UK you could track the progress through the login. I added my vehicle based on a number that was on my order confirmation. The only info it had was that it was a T6.1. Suddenly a few weeks ago a VIN number appeared, then the generic outline of a car turned into the render of my California and a link also appeared to setup the weconnect, which I did but then you get to the point where you need to do something in the vehicle.

It makes sense that a VIN number is only assigned once the vehicle exists, so save for a problem during assembly, I guess it is a good indication that things are moving forwards.

Hi, do you know when your build slot was? We ordered a 4Motion at the beginning of January and the build commenced week 26. The latest from our dealer (2 weeks ago) was that it was still in build. Thanks

Call with dealer yesterday, my week 37 build (3 weeks ago) is still status 20 and they have no idea when it will enter production.
VWChat this morning confirmed van shipped to Grimbsy on 30 September (6 days after above message from dealer). Not sure if that means it's arrived or not but a complete surprise nevertheless.

I'm trying to do the same, but it asks for either a 'commission number' or VIN. I presume you entered a commission number? I don't seem to have one on my 'Vehicle Detail' sheet, which was provided when I ordered setting out the order number and options.
Which number was on your order confirmation sheet?

Interesting that this order is also status '20', but has arrived at the destination port? Seems to run contrary to what I'd expect based on other information on this thread (would expect status 40)?

VW Chat were able to give me my VIN @66tim99, maybe worth checking with them.

The destination port showed on my ‘vehicle detail’ sheet from when I ordered. I think it is just bound for Sheerness rather than sitting there.

So I have registered with MyVolkswagen online a few months ago and therefore have a login for the account.

However when I go to the webpage in Safari on my Mac the whole page has a translucent grey colour over the page and I cannot click or access anything.

I tried it on my iPhone in Safari and it works fine... however I am in a Kafkaesque loop of continually having to enter my username and password, then when I do it takes me back to a screen where I need to enter them again. They are correct... but I changed them anyway and reregistered with a new password but the same happens.

I then tried using Chrome on the MacBook Pro but the same loop happens.

Does anyone else have an experiences like this?

So the Kafka loop continues so I used VW Chat to ask why. I was told that MyVolkswagen website has been closed. I argued that some people seem to be able to use it and then he send me a fresh link -

This allowed me to enter my details again but the ended in an Error 404 page

He then explained that the WeConnect app is the replacement and if I had further issues to contact the WeConnect services by telephone in the UK.

All a bit poor really.

How rubbish is VW chat???
2 weeks ago I'm told that yes, my Ocean started production in wk 36, as pre-advised by the dealer.
Checking on status today, I'm told it hasn't entered production yet, and has no build date associated with it - so no chance of the VIN that I've been reading about, which is what I contacted them for.
Sobs of despair and frustration.

Have you checked with your dealer that VW Chat is giving you accurate information?

Have you tried this one? I was able to login just now with my Swiss credentials and display vehicle details including the options.

MyVolkswagen.uk

Of course, once you have succeeded, you will see just how little use the whole thing is...

Note also this: https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/owners-and-drivers/my-car/my-vw-information.html

Thanks, however this is the page that I am stuck in a loop with. I enter my details, it excepts them and then loads the same page and asks to login.

Sounds like soemone at VW Chat hasn't read the script properly! I wonder if we have been offered £500.00 and an illusory Build Week just to soften the blow of an even longer delay in delivery.....

I’ve just had an unprovoked email from autoebid (who I must say have been pretty good with communication) and we are now status 40 arrived in UK port. Very exciting and a much shorter time at Emden than anticipated. They expect we should take delivery in about 2 weeks!
