New T6.1 order delays

Confirmed by my dealer that price will be protected on existing orders only if vehicle is taxed by 30/06/2022. If not then 3% increase will apply

So that backs up what I was told too. I really don’t understand how they can do this as it’s completely out of our control. They could delay our orders to make even more profit?

Do dealers usually honour the price at point of ordering? What about if changes are made to spec whilst waiting? I ordered towards end of September and made a slight change in October sometime.
Will do if it's commited to build but alas Landrover constantly unslott their builds. 7 months and no build date. Now they are reviewing each build. 23MY was out 4 weeks ago. Still reviewing......

We were told our price was guaranteed, stupidly didn’t get this in writing.

We *should* make the cut off date for the 3% price increase but in principle this is awful treatment by VW.

How can they charge more of they deliver late?

Agreed, not sure how they can get away with it?

Surely the dealers will communicate this 3% with everyone who has an outstanding order.

On second thoughts I doubt they even care ;)

I don’t think that’s legal. You have a price in writing. You want it tomorrow. They deliver a year later. You point to the price in writing.
my dealer honoured the price after 13 months and 2 price rises

At last! nice Tim is that in boy racer grey as well? :) enjoy it mate,
Yes mate really pleased with it. Was a little bit unsure as pictures make it look beige but it’s pale grey in real life.

When my dealer told me this (on Thursday this week) he was saying that he’s never experienced this before and the manager had been on zoom calls for all of the previous day trying to get to the bottom of it and it sounded like they were objecting to it.
Like you, I don‘t see how this can be legal but don’t know the law.

Acceptance of your deposit is acceptance of the price

Liverpool Van centre were well aware of this back in August (not that the increase would be as much as 3%) so it shouldn’t necessarily be a surprise to dealers.

I was referring to VWUK not honouring the prices for existing orders after sometime in June 2022, I was told that they haven’t experienced this before

Yes, that’s what I’m referring to. I was told this vehicles wouldn’t be price protected with delivery after March 31st

The dealer offered to price protect but it would have cost a couple of grand more.

The dealer I ordered off offered price protection and a better price.

Thanks Tim, and also for the link lower down. I shall read up further! Im hoping i might sneak in delivery but not too optimistic. You must be over the moon with yours, it looks fantastic, some of your earlier posts inspired us to change to ascot grey with the sports pack

We queried it with our dealer today and they confirmed and wanted to know where we heard it from! Apparently they will be writing to customers shortly.

Will be interesting to here the official date of delivery beyond which they intend to add 3%.

Acceptance of your deposit also means you accepting the small print on the back of the order form. It is normal for it to have a clause about being subject to manufacturers price rises, with a get out for the purchaser whereby if you don’t accept the additional costs you can back out of the deal and get your deposit back.
It used to be a continual problem with porsche when there was a 18 - 24 month waiting list, you never quite knew what you were going to end up paying.

My order form has such a clause whereby the dealer can pass on cost increases. It’s disappointing but not wholly unexpected in my view. We will just need to save a little extra during the extended delay!

P400XS 110. Alas I won't be keeping it if it ever arrives. Landrover have annoyed me a tad.
