I’m picking up tomorrow after 1 year, 1 month and 2 weeks. I reckon I’m the longest California build this far.

Maybe in your country, I waited 1 year, 2 months and 3 weeks and 2 days for our Coast that arrived 1,5 months ago. Very happy now !

The guys at Liverpool van centre contacted me today and confirmed an April build slot. Ordered early July. Hopefully we will over on the continent in July

i was told yesterday mine has arrived at dock in germany, news i barely could believe, but i think your right im now looking things daily instead of weekly BUT its also enjoyable too now its out of factory doors!!!

When it’s in build, it’s subject to all the shortages and shutdowns etc, you can’t really see progress

Once it’s at the port, you’re like…How long does it take to get on a boat?! Why’s it been in Emden for three bloody weeks???

I have been getting quotes and got 9% discount. Unfortunately VW have just put the price up 3%! Gutted as I had the price from Emma at Breeze and now it has gone up.

I heard this yesterday too. Apparently, the dealers are normally told that prices will be going up on a certain date, but this time they were told theyre going up immediately. I was also told that VW UK will honour prices on existing orders until sometime in June next year! This is apparently being contested by dealerships as it’s out of everyones control. I personally can’t see how they can get away with that???

Equally gutted, like Scottk in negotiations to buy, had a quote through DTD and was likely to have pressed the order button early next week. I think this is at least the third price rise this year, I thought the last one was only at the start of October and hoped no further price increases to January at the earliest, plus no notice period in which to get an pre increase order in. Not impressed with VW and also now put off if I maybe subject to further increase between order and delivery. The price I order at is the price I expect to pay.

Now questioning if I can afford it, or which options I may have to ditch to bring the cost down a bit.

Having spent 18 month searching for the best van for my needs, the cali ticks most of my boxes and don’t want to give up on my dream, likewise don’t want to bankrupt myself over the dream.

Lots of thinking and number crunching to do over the weekend.

The price I order at is the price I expect to pay.

It will be - 2 price rises between my order and delivery (and I’d just missed a lower price by days, so 3in 13 months), but they honoured the order price, and also the finance deal on offer at the time (£1000 deposit contribution when taking out finance)

I can honestly say guys as a dealer network this price increase has come out of nowhere. It is a 3% price increase on vehicle and 2% on options.
This will be difficult for some people who have wanted to suddenly place orders, this is just California is across the whole Volkswagen Range.

Did you also get advised that they will only honour the price for existing orders until around June next year? Or have I been misinformed/got that wrong (I hope so!)?

Do dealers usually honour the price at point of ordering? What about if changes are made to spec whilst waiting? I ordered towards end of September and made a slight change in October sometime.

Congrats. I'm at exactly 1 year today. Told delivery pushed back to March 2022 though, so my wait may well be a record breaker at 16 months. I hope VW proves me wrong and delivers the Coast to my dealer in Amsterdam sooner.
