New T6.1 order delays

Hi Peter,
Have you also had confirmation of delivery for your Campers.eu Cali? I'm scheduled to collect my Coast on May 28th. Order Nov 15th 2020.
Not yet, only that it's scheduled to be delivered early June to their supplier.

New update this morning: the van is painted and assembly has started. It's all moving along nicely. The dealer also confirmed that the van would have the wheels mounted by now. It has wheels!

New email from dealer this morning (Ocean ordered April 2021 in Ireland):

Just an update on your order, as of the 6/5/2022 the vehicle arrived at the port in Germany, at the moment we have not been informed on when the next vessel is leaving.

Once I hear on when the vessel is leaving I will update yourself.

:bananadance2:cheers

Our Van was at the port29th April and we where told it could make the boat leaving 3rd May which would have been tight, it didn't make that boat and we are told the next boat is leaving on the 11th May. Our dealer has sent a message to request that they do their best to ensure that it is on that boat.
Hopefully both of our Cali's will make it :)

Not much beyond the normal Coast interior, but we did order the 'Storage Pack' and the Discover Media Pro (I'm one of the few who actually LIKE VW's satnav ;), and I like the way it fills the dash).

Hope these give you an idea.

That isn't the Discover Media Pro unit in the photos. The Media Pro doesn't have any knobs at all its 100% touchscreen. You have the Discover Media unit.

Whoop whoop. I'll mention that to my dealer - let's make it a party.

Oh dear Shuftie, you said you ordered Discovery Media PRO, and you've got basic Discovery media. Look at your order and invoice, then talk to the dealer if it is not as your VW order sheet.

You folks are of course right :talktothehand I didnt order the pro - just the nav (PACKET:ZIE - Discover Media Navigation System), but can't stop myself from calling it that for some reason o_O:D

Thats fine then, didn't want you to have been ripped off paying for something you havn't received.

Helpful update from Nick at Listers. Coast ordered 1st October at port……. needs a full ship before it sets sail. I hope there a plenty of vans on their way!

Ooh thanks for this we ordered our coast on 7 September from the same place (minimal options added) so fingers crossed it’s en route soon!

Mine is also waiting for a full ship :)

Well **** just got real. Just had a message that the van is at Santander and should arrive here this week or next.

I have to say after 13 months of waiting, the last couple of weeks since learning it has been built and actually physically exists have been by far the longest!

Possibly the worst part is I pass the dealer most nights on the way home from work so I'm likely to see it in the yard before I can actually get my mitts on the thing.

At risk of getting boo’ed off the forum. We were told Friday (first positive update ) that our Coast had already been built in week 17 (status code 38) and was waiting at Emden.
Booooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Join the Coast gang at Emden!

Good news!

Apart from Coasts and Beaches (mainly) moving more quickly, I think that perfect storm of shortages etc is maybe mostly over now. Would an Ocean ordered today still have a 12+ month leadtime?

Can the net be retrofitted or does it require factory installed mounts?

Hoooooraaaaayyyyy!!!!!
I’d say the nets can be retrofitted easily by a dealer - just a metal rail screwed in on either side above the cab. Might need to drill into the body (are the holes available on all new Californias?) so I wouldn’t fancy fitting myself.

I read somewhere this week if I remembered where I would post it, that the VW CEO said any new order for any VW would be 2023 now.

Update from our dealer (Ian at Liverpool) says we MIGHT get our Coast (ordered on the last day Coasts were available Nov ‘21) in time for the Jubilee weekend!

Could ours be on a boat today?!

I wonder if we need to think about an extra status code ?
39 = Vehicle on ship
40 = Vehicle arrival at UK port
60 = Dispatched to Dealer
70 = Vehicle arrived at Dealer
71 = Ragging up the motorway singing along to cliff Richards ‘summer holiday ‘

If it helps anyone in this apparent time on illogical production/delivery processes:
- Ocean with towbar, sports pack, pro-Nav, art velour and wood effect flooring
-Ordered UK (Reading) June ‘21
- New confirmed build date week 21 (w/c 23rd May)
- was previously planned for build week 10
- hoping for July delivery (but who the f@&k knows?!)

Ha ha! Love it!

I think it was in a YouTube video from ‘A Bus and Beyond’, Shaun tracked the boat their van was on from Germany to UK. Is this a thing?

Suppose this was before the world fell apart so necessary info is probably no longer available to customers

Sorry to those still waiting for Oceans

You can still track ships using a variety of websites. Add ‘Emden’ under port and the departures appear. Some are classed as ‘vehicle carriers’ but I’ve no idea what ship will be full of Cali’s today
