Thx WG, good to see what’s new out there.
Wish I could find the perfect tyre to all 3 wish’s.
AT tyre - great for muddy usage (too noisy for motorway use, like driving an army Land Rover )
Summer tyre - great for motorway (no good for mud and snow)
Winter tyre - great for Scotland & Nordic travel and essential for EU winter use (No good for UK Summers)
I’m thinking of going for a chunky winter Michelin Alpin 6 on the 18”
And 19” summer.
I’ll ask VB what they recommend with Air Suspension on a 4M
 
I have MC2s on the back and still the Bridgestone A005 on the front. This set of A005 seem to be immune to wear whilst the other set were pretty stuffed by now
 
Michelin latitude cross, Tried most of the others,Lucky to have a tyre department in my dealership, Keep coming back to them,
What characteristics make you enjoy these tyres more than the others?
Do they do all 3 things ?
Quiet, quality feedback, good in snow?
 
I drive up slippery mud tracks, they appear to cope, they also appear strong and not suffer stone damage, handle fine for a heavy vehicle, not noticeably noisy on the motorway, Last for good mileage,
Can’t comment on snow, Because I wouldn’t use it in the snow,
There probably isn’t the 100% perfect tyre but they suit my needs,
 
So I essentially need two sets
Summer, quiet on motorway with added flexibility for getting off wet grass and slippery mud.
Winter, great on snow and good for wet slippery mud and quiet on motorway.
It’s a right pain in the a$$ trying to decide what the perfect combo is :headbang
 
Best compromise package seems to be the CrossClimate 2's which review very high. Then add chains for the occasional snow encounter.
 
The Michelins only have 6.6mm thread. I went for the Continentals last year, which are affordable, are in the middle at every test and now have 30k kms on them with stil 5.5mm of thread left.
 
Michelin cross have over 9mm
Where did you see this info? The Agilis CC's designed for vans but only available in 15 and 16" sizes have an initial depth of 9.2mm. The CC2's seem to be 10/32 or 7.9mm when new.
 
I measured them with my tyre tread depth gauge when I fitted them, I think about 9.3 mm off the top of my head, I measure about 60 tyres a day

And most importantly most people don’t swap there summer air for winter air,

Nice overview here on the Latitude Cross. They state 8.7mm tread. This seems like a decent option to consider for occasional off piste activity as an alternative to the CC2's.
 
I think at the end of the day you can’t go wrong with any Michelin tyre they have had a good reputation for ages,
The main thing is not to over think it, Any of the named brands will be more than up to the job, Choose a tyre that you like the look of and is of a reasonable price,Job done,

Well you already covered winter vs summer air, so where else is there to go?
 
And I do prefer the tread pattern on the Latitudes over the CC2's, plus there are a bit more economical

Good plan, I also get 15% off the Michelin as a hero at ATS-Euromaster.
And lifetime puncture / repair / replacement for free anywhere I can get to an ATS.
So no need for a spare.

Always put that fresh winter air in, gives that “fresh tyre smell” every day when driving.
Almost pine fresh smell, can smell the roasting kippers drifting through the Scot’s pines :cheers
