G in a circle on the display

I have this G in a circle - where there used to be a battery image - please can someone advise if this is normal and what does it mean?

Means the battery is being charged up by the alternator. Turn the engine off & it will revert to the battery pic.
 
Yes it’s normal, not sure what the ‘G’ stands for, sure someone will confirm, but it basically means the alternator is charging your batteries, i.e engine is on.

Like this it's normal and we can see that it's charging. What have you changed since your other post on the same subject?

G for generator. Generator is the German for Alternator.

there was a wire that was not plugged into my batter that i noticed - and so plugged it in .... i am a total luddite with anything to do with engines - so all help and guidance really apreciated

plugged a wire in to the battery that was not plugged in - i'm a Luddite under a bonnet in fa with anything mechanical or electrical - so all help is really appreciated

@DessyParkerWigWam Was the disconnected wire the one that connects this device on the battery post?

If it was disconnected then, the battery charging system will not function correctly, the stop start feature would be disabled and the charging voltage would be a default value and the battery would most likely not be charged fully. So the vehicle would operate but not to full function, it might also be that the leisure batteries are not being fully charged or at all.
