We sold our California a couple of years ago which we owned for nearly 10 years and changed to an ID Buzz with no regrets. We have missed the internal kitchen at times as we now have a Cali Beach style conversion in the tailgate consisting of twin induction hob, sink and pull out drawer. Extra bed width like all you lucky Beach owners experience is another bonus.

Tonke in Netherlands have just teased their latest ID Buzz explorer which looks fantastic, not only does it have functional inside outside kitchen, unlike the new Cali which is let down by the glass hinged lid, you can also have a third option of completely removing the kitchen!

It’s great to see such a clever design. Based on this, I now have real hope that VW should be able to produce a Cali Buzz to rival the T7 Multivan in the coming years.

Hope you like the photos I have taken from their video. Let’s try to keep this post about the conversion and not post about mileage range as we all know the Buzz range from other posts.

Can you pin in a link to the video I can’t find it

Looks great - only OT comment I'll make is that I'm looking at one for a family car to replace my LR Disco 5. But that's what makes me so interested in new threads on the Buzz in general.

Glad you're enjoying yours as a camper - I'm really taken by the aesthetics and practicality

Looks amazing.
Love the roof although that design rules out one very important use cases of mine : raise the roof but don't put out anything else eg for sleeping on the motorway aires or in car parks

100% agree, sometimes you just want that standing up space but this could be a pain if it compromises that need.

If you look at the second image by the OP, it clearly looks like it is designed as a pop top, so the internal headroom can be expanded.
But obviously if you regularly camp in places that don’t allow for awnings etc then this solution probably isn’t for you. :thumb
