All geared up: my all-seasons all-purpose T6 Ocean interior & organisation :

We’ll too have some new uses for the van, that is currently sitting on our drive.

The first, a buffer/decontamination zone between work and home.

The second, a hub for the neighbourhood support scheme that we’ve organised. We’ll have shared resources and kit (like first aid stuff) in it so we can unlock/lock the van from the house.

Thirdly, standby sleeping quarters or potential “ambulance”.

Till somebody finally comes up with a simple solution to feed the car music system via the leisure batteries, I installed my stereo TDK bluetooth speakers in the useless C-pillar handle, and the second behind the pots. A little pocket I had laying around serves as a temporary iphone charger (was in fact looking for an old iphone case, so that the screen is accessible). Easily in reach when using the downstairs bed. Both speaker and phone get 12V feeding from the nearly impossible to reach cigaret lighter plug besides the bench. The cables are hidden between the Brandrup mosquito net.
Edit: I recovered an old phone case + phone. Handy, so now I have a permanently charged music system for Leisure situations.

Since in these Corona days the Auberg-ine is turned into a garden 'office', with files all over, I've been looking for a place to drop off some more things. So, there is this table in the sliding door, and I still had a strap,...
The strap goes through the table hook and behind the headrest. The table goes with the straight side against the window. Straighten a bit the chair and it doesn't move a thing. I never swivel the left chair because you can't properly eat at the table anyway, so I use my stool then.
Should fit for a RHD as well, with the chair more advanced.

In case we might still be allowed to travel before the end of summer: preparing for my wash line/ fridge heat protector. I recovered two shelves from an old drying rack, and clipped it into the left roof rail. To protect the back of the fridge from direct sunlight I use my mosquito mesh 'stealth' screen (see post 149) and my doormat.
Now let the beast out!

Nothing, just that the stapler is for the cloths; the needles for the flesh of course....:talktothehand

Preparing for next trip 'Into the wild'. Thought I should look for a way to enlarge the 'bar':

Hi, I was flicking through this post - some tremendous ideas. One thing that jumped out at me was the space saving bar/drinks flasks. You might already have been asked this somewhere in the thread, but where did you get the flasks from?

Hi Nic. The hip flasks are indeed very efficient. You just need baggy trousers for some of them ;-)
You find them in most (online) gadget stores. I think I bought the 64 oz ones at Flying Tiger for some 12€, the small 5 oz ones for 3€ or so.
Here's the first I find online:: http://www.parfumpostorder.nl/category/14590/16008/heupflessen.html?price=2-19&sort=price_high&pn=1
If you need some inspiration at this happy hour : from piccolo to Magnums: from Warming Up's (Jameson, 4 Pillars, Zacapa, Courvoisier, Amaretto), to Cooling Down's (White Sancerre, Ricard/water, Vermouth). Cheers!
:cheers

The new piercings of the day: fixing my drawer bungee at the footwell. It allows me now after a walk to get all our muddy boots in drying position in front of the heater outlet.

The width of the table is exactly the width of the gap. Would they know at VW?

Bravo! Will try this out when I can get back to my van, which is currently in a parking garage 1 1/2 km from my flat where I am locked down in the Gothic quarter.

Merci! Eixample? One of the old heigh ones? Well, you can go now, no?
I still fixed two musketons at the rope, which I leave hanging; I see me using this extra table surface quit often.
The net is handy to put the table straight while mounting. I added a small piece of velcro under the table and at the border, in case somebody bumps onto it.

@Auberg-ine in your original post you mention (post#) behind some of the things you addes or changed to your van. For example: 'Jump leads + 20m Hook-up cable + air compressor + oil storage on top of main battery (post 89) '
I'm assuming there's a post with number 89 in which you elaborate on what you store on top of the battery and how? If so, how do I find this post #89? Sorry If I am missing something obvious

Yes, like your message was post 286 in the same thread here (right upper corner of your box).

I made me a summary of all the extra tunings, DIY's, extra equipment,... that grew onto the Auberg-ine, after experiencing all kinds of settings (as mobile office, as camper,...) and weathers,... Might be useful for the so many new newbies around here, even if of course very personal and specific. What I still carry around now might be crazy for most people, but to me it's my favorite omni-toy. Fridge, water, gas, all permanently topped, ready to fly out at whatever spur of the moment!

(Edit: lists get updated after each new intervention along the thread)

Wow , I thought we were organised some of you guys on here . ...scary, but in a good way

Always found that sliding door had more 'potential'. Like e.g. a photo gallery. Of your family, pets, bbq snapshots, a collection of your brave Calipades. As frames I used 5 thin CD cases that fit perfectly in the decor recess. Stick them on with thick double tape. The pictures are then quickly switched.
Since for each long trip I compose a local soundtrack, the photo gallery just doubles as a discography (take the cases with rigid CD fixing).
And then in the months we're confined, it serves as a mental escape way. ;-)
At the back of the middle case I still have to drill a 4cm hole. This way I can open the case, and reach the handle to release the picnic table.

Here you are, my outdoors bar table alternative. No risk of scratching dust under magnets, or magnets sliding with the weight on it. No risk that the foot is kicked from underneath the tablet, or a dog moves it over. No need in spending 95€. All you need is whatever tray you have in the house, a large piece of velcro, a rail screw and some rope. The tray is resting at the door handle, but with the soft part of the velcro sleeve protecting in between (and two soft pads at the border of the tablet). A little piece of complementary velcro on the underside of the tray avoids that it might slip away. The triangular support avoids tilting.
Serves also perfectly well as an outdoors smoking stand.

IMG-2427.jpgIMG-2434.jpg IMG-2446.jpg IMG-2374.jpg

Edit: I took the tablet that I already have in the car anyhow. So I drilled two holes ;-) at the corners of one of my Outwell Baffin table tops (post #48).

The tray is not tilting since the handle is firmly fixed due to the width of the velcro ribbon.

That was an impressively quick response. How did you attach it to the handle? Or is it just sitting atop the handle?

I don’t think I’ll be doing it however I’m impressed by your ingenuity

I made a ribbon with some 15cm of soft velcro, and 5cm of rough part on the other side. This goes through the grip of the tray and the door handle. and then you fix the loop.

edit: with my Bafflin table I just fixed it with another strip of Velcro, see photo in post #291.

I am a bit obsessed with our roof rails, I know. But they're so useful, both of them. The advantages of hanging things: no need for legs! In most situations where I camp I'm already happy to find a small strip to position two of my wheels horizontal. So I have my suspended slide-out tail table, my hanging cocktail table, hanging water funnel, the drying rack/fridge protection clicked into the left rail, and now also a sunshade for the driver's side (LHD). The kitchen is already protected with the ventilation screen and the limo glass, but not the front seat. I just never use the sun blinds, for the simple reason that they blind where I want to see. So, still have the cover of my boot container, and some rope going over the roof, and 2 rail screws. Now still something for the windshield,...

If this Lockdown is still continuing for a while, I'll make her proper wings. ;-)

Have you never noticed that your back passengers always try to sit left side? Left one has a nice armrest, while Mr. Right has to have his arms crossed the whole ride. So, not any longer, and with nothing special: I fixed my travel bag on a hook underneath the i-pod, which makes a comfortable armrest, a magazines rack, and drink holder (after my previous one in the table release grip got blocked by the photo gallery). Still plenty of space to sit two persons.
I still had a left over of the previous cow for the top. Next step is that I buy another cow, and make a fitting bag out of her (same angle and all), having it also look like a true sofa. And then probably make some trousers with that leftover, etc,... ;-)

No need for anything more in my little auberge: candles, some wine, Satie, and Velcro. For my cigaret lighter reading spot that follows me to wherever I want to sit (post #118). Here sticking at my door handle sleeve (#293), now at the ceiling grip. Life can be so simple,...

Which pictures you want me to redo? Sorry, I just have my iPhone for it. I suppose you know you can enlarge them all by just clicking on them, no? I must say that the original photo's here are much sharper. Seems there's a quality reduction after uploading.
I should image the photos get webized (resampled) automatically to save space on the host server.
