Any problems being experienced on the forum?

Over the weekend we have been making a few changes and upgrades to the forum back-end to ensure we are operating on the latest version.

I just wanted to see if anyone is experincing any problems at all?

Hi Martin,

I had 'page not available' a couple of times earlier this afternoon but soon got back to the forum by using the back arrow. All seems to be running fine now though.

Thanks Maud, that was just me making some changes, it should not happen anymore now.

We are also trying to resolve the complex password issue, I will let everyone know when this is ready so you can go back in to your setting and change it to a normal password.

I can no longer use private messages - not sure if this is a change to the privileges or a fault.

I am afraid this is currently a change to the privileges for non VIP's as we have been targeted by so much spam over the past few months.

Some spammers were joining just to send members PM's advertising payday loans. We are looking at other ways to stop this as we did not want to disable the PM function but it was the only option we could use

In the meantime, if any non VIP's need messages forwarded to other members, you can send them to us via [email protected] and will send them on for you.

Hi Martin, yes spam has been a problem, personally I think if you are not a paid up VIP member then PM's shouldn't be available. That will eliminate the problems of spam etc and reduce any other IT issues. Does the fee contribute towards the upkeep of the forum? If it does then no pay no play. I am sure there will be some non VIP's disagreeing with this however, is £9.99 too much to pay for this great forum with all of the info you can get.

A serious reply ... and I know this is unusual but then I'm in Albert and he is not in frivolous mood having been driven for 340 miles to Kendal ...

Over the weekend I would log in, get to the forum, click on "unread posts" and be returned to the log in screen. It happened quite a few times but appears to all be well now.
