New to the world of Calis
I don’t get it, what’s the benefit of the non 7 seat version? Is it storage? Is there something useful under that bench thing on the side? Sorry in advance if it’s a daft question

Yes good planI think I’m going to drop in at Birmingham VW vans and check out the difference for myself. They’ve got both in stock by the looks of things . I don’t understand the configuration difference from regular beach to 7 seat..... was assuming the difference was width of bench but it’s obviously more complicated than that
If it helps you, I have just placed an advert in the "Used Californias for sale section". There are loads of photos included that show just how versatile a seven seat Beach is. The advert is entitled "Bluebell" - seeks new owner".I think I’m going to drop in at Birmingham VW vans and check out the difference for myself. They’ve got both in stock by the looks of things . It would be tough to go camping in 7 seater mode as there would be no space inside and the captions chairs are heavy to take in and out plus you need somewhere to put them when they aren’t in the van.
We have the 2.0 x 1.5 m Brandrup mattress, with soft foam below and harder foam above. If used correctly, not too lumpy but still noticeable. If used upside down (doh) very lumpy.Just how bumpy is that lower bed? I was thinking kids would go up top and me below but don’t want to commit to uncomfortable sleep whenever camping??

I have heard good things about the VW comfort mattress which is designed specifically for the 3 seat bench.

I have 7 seats, took the two second row individual seats out for a one month trip for 2 to Scotland, back in for a trip to the Pyrenees with 6 friends this weekend. This level of flexibility is not available on the 2 seat bench, or on the Ocean/SE. Both upper and lower (150cm x 200cm!) beds are fully usable with 7 seats in.Its not full of seats so loads more room inside??
With mutiflex (which in the 3 bench Beach is really multiflexible, in both position and length) fitted.I have 7 seats, took the two second row individual seats out for a one month trip for 2 to Scotland, back in for a trip to the Pyrenees with 6 friends this weekend. I have the VW comfort mattress, which is designed to adapt to and eliminate the lumps in the 3 seat bench. Excellent. We have the 2.0 x 1.5 m Brandrup mattress, with soft foam below and harder foam above. If used correctly, not too lumpy but still noticeable. If used upside down (doh) very lumpy.
