Best All Weather Tyres

No tire works in all conditions. I now carry 2 small plastic tracks with me in the hope that they could get me unstuck when my MCC2s fail and there aren't any helpful Tibetans on hand. What finally got us back on the "road" was a wooden plank that the driver had hidden away and had hoped to keep clean.

Good Morning all
Need to replace my all weather tyres and thinking Michelin Cross Climate pasted this from internet. I am driving in uk and Europe and snow occasionally. I have decided on the Michelins

Question is which tyre ? I am running a 2020 Ocean 6.1.

Yes, Michelin CrossClimate tires are suitable for a VW California Ocean
, with specific models like the CrossClimate 2, CrossClimate 3, or Agilis CrossClimate being popular choices, often in a 235/55 R17 XL size. These all-season tires offer a good balance of wet and dry grip, snow traction, and longevity for year-round use, but ensure you select the correct load rating for your vehicle.

Michelin CrossClimate options for VW California
  • Michelin CrossClimate 2: A highly-regarded all-season tire that provides improved safety in various weather conditions and good performance in rain, snow, and dry conditions.
  • Michelin CrossClimate 3: The latest version, it offers improvements in both wet and snow performance over the CrossClimate 2, with better traction and braking in snow, according to some testing.
    • Michelin Agilis CrossClimate: Specifically designed for commercial and heavier vehicles, this tire offers high load ratings and durability, making it a suitable choice for the VW California, which is a heavier vehicle.

Important considerations
  • Load Rating: The VW California is a heavy vehicle, so it's critical to choose tires with the correct load rating (often marked "XL" for extra load) to ensure safety and proper vehicle performance.
Thank you

Thank you
I presume you have 17" wheels?
Personal preference would be Crossclimate 3, 235/55 with a minimum Load Rating of 103 and minimum speed rating of H.

Hi

Tyre we have on is 235/55R17/103H. They are currently factory fitted Goodyear. Vector 4 seasons

So exactly what tyre size and rating you suggested.
Thank you so much I will go with the Crossclimate 3.

Cheers
Bud

Hi Welsh Gas

Having problems getting the 103h rated tyres but can get it on a 103y rating do you think that would be okay? He mentioned it was about the speed
Thank you

That's fine. Minimum speed rating is H.

At one point I was considering going for a 2nd set of wheels and having some winters on them and then swap the wheels over for winter and put summers back in early spring; but in the end I opted to stick with one set of wheels and go for the All Season variety; so I recently had the following fitted to mine...

So far so good ;)
