our Cali has been stood for 12 days after last outing. When we tried to move it today, after releasing hand brake the wheels had seized! After moving it backwards/forwards many times the wheels eventually released. Has anyone experienced this issue and any suggestions why this happened please

Are you sure it wasn’t the brake pads that got stuck on the discs? If I put mine away when wet they stick, and it goes with a small crack when free. Low speeds in wet weather then parked up, or washing then not using usually contributes to this.

Use brake cleaner on discs and spray over pads spray cans about £2.50

Yes, probably the brake pads stuck to the discs. My van is parked off-road on level ground and I tend to park up with it left in gear with handbrake off to avoid this happening.

We did wash it and not use it so perhaps this the reason. Odd though as in 30 years never experienced before with other vehicles! Bit disconcerting. Thank you

We thought about leaving hand brake off and putting bricks behind wheels. Reassuring that others had same issue. Thankyou for your response

Discs and pads on most modern vehicles are now on the rear, where the handbrake apples the friction. Older vehicles used to have drum brakes at the rear and water didn’t get in easily so the problem didn’t occur.

I always take mine around the block and hard brake to clear away moisture before parking up. It also helps reduce brake rust which helps your discs last a little bit longer :thumb

As your description on your Avatar says you have an Auto, you could just leave it in Park and handbrake off.

Yep, quite common with mine. Nothing serious.
