We solved the problem by changing the towbar and using spacers.

Thanks for your input.
You are right, and it would allow us to open the door, but as you say it would not be practical in all situations, and as our caravan is 7,5m long and not easily manoeuvred we decided to replace the tow bar.
We replaced the removable OE with a fixed, and even then we need spacers (see photo).
The problem should be resolved soon as we have ordered a new caravan who’s hitch will allow the door to open (we live and learn).

We thought that our 7,5m LaMancelle was long enough, but your twin axled Bailey must be nearer 8m, you are definitely braver than us.
We agree the Cali is a great tow vehicle, we towed around 3,500 km this September with absolutely no problems.
If we see a Cali towing a twin axled Bailey we'll know it's you, and if you see a LHD Acapulco Blue Cali towing a Hymer Nova GL it will most likely be us.
