I know this is very stereotypical, but does anyone know of any campsites in either the Loire or Massif Central (or somewhere between the two) where you can camp at a vineyard, maybe do a wine tasting but ideally that takes children (for the camping element, less so the wine tasting).

Cheers

champagne Region : I am Staying at this place during:
Le Fete Champagne 2025

Champagne Pascal Walczak

This years Fete details

The Fete Du Champagne is a Great thing to Experience, with or without Kids.
Basically a different village each year is selected to host the event, the village is closed off to all traffic from Friday to Sunday and becomes one great big traffic free area , each Champagne House opens up its doors and puts on a unique celebration of its Wine, including music , food and entertainment in many.
The event runs all day into the evening.
You can see the vines and explore the area on foot.
You can buy a book of tickets (at the event) which includes a little bag and a wine Glass you carry with you) (50 euros approx - see website for current costs) you can then explore the village and vineyards (walk around a sign Posted route in any direction you like or make your own route). - edit buying a book of tickets is not Madatory , you can experience the event for Free. Similar you can buy glasses of Champagne individually if you prefer.

When you enter a particular Champagne House, present a corresponding ticket to the Particular Champagne house, they will swap it for a glass of Bubbles (poured into your Glass The book of tickets is valid for the whole of the Event. It's a great waty to experience the Miriam of Flavours and types of Champagne.
You can purchase Food , Bottles of Produce and souvenirs en route, soak up the atmosphere, listen to a live group or two, see the Wine making facilities and processes etc.
The Vibe is very relaxed party and very convivial.

I went several years ago with two teens, we all enjoyed the whole unique French experience, we didn't stay onsite on that occasion.

We are returning this year to stay within the Village to get the full experience.

Details of the chosen village event are released very gradually. Including location , camping details etc, which are usually released a few weeks before the event.

A champagne fete! This site is just brilliant. We had already planned a trip through cotes de bar, but unfortunately we’ll be there a few days before the fete and need to be in the Alps for the 27th. Next year though!

Your best bet is France Passion. Stayed at several spectacular locations including vineyards, and since these are often unique to the FP, you won't have to compete with the SS and P4N crowd.

Their site says you need to be self- contained, which for us would mean not overloading the Porta Potty!
