Check list of essentials for newbie

I'm renting a California Ocean next month before I commit to buying one and was wondering if there is a list of essential items that are needed for a 3 night rental.

Below is a list that will come with the rental. Other than maybe buying a porta pottie and bringing bedding is there anything else that we may possibly need that is not on the list? Cheers

• Kitchen Pack includes:
  • 4 cereal bowls, 4 mugs, 4 dinner plates, knives, forks, spoons
  • wooden spoon, wooden spatula, serving spoon
  • chopping board x 2, sieve and grater, plastic mixing bowl
  • saucepans (with lids) x 2 and frying pan
  • tea towels x 2
  • 3 piece knife set( paring, utility & chefs), corkscrew/bottle opener
  • salad serving bowl and servers
  • wine and beer glasses
  • dustpan and brush
  • tin opener, scissors, vegetable peeler
  • collapsible washing up bowl, washing up cloth and sponge
  • kettle – electric or gas
  • tumblers & serving jug
• Mains hook up lead
• Bike rack – takes 4 non-electric bikes. ALL our campervans have a bike rack at no extra cost!
• First Aid Kit & warning triangle
• Fire extinguisher & fire blanket
• Reflective jackets x 4
• Gas bottle
• Isofix child seat fixings to back seat.
• VW Roadside Assistance
• Fully comprehensive insurance
• Unlimited mileage
• Full tank of Diesel (return with a full tank of diesel)

Yes beer and wine....for the beer and wine glasses.
Oh yes and a toilet roll...

A torch, water hose pipe with various attachments to fill water tank or largish water pottle and funnel, a rubbish bin or bin bags, a couple of wheel levellers and a mattabooboo.

If you are staying on a serviced pitch you probably won't need a porta potty.

Porta Potti: a good idea or not?

We’ve been giving the purchase of a Porta Potti 335 some thought of late. We know that some people erect a dedicated “toilet tent” in which to house the toilet and we can understand their thinking!; however, if you had to use the toilet inside the Cali, is there sufficient room to accommodate...

As with most things there are many different views out there.
I bought mine in 2019, and never used.

We bought a Porta Potti during covid, after more than ten years without. It was useful for a couple of weeks. Now I can’t wait to bin it.

We go to the loo in the toilet block like the tent campers.

As a 52 year old, at 3am I have a choice - get the torch out and go to the toilet block - a little bit scared and perhaps, if I look up, in awe of the amazing star-filled sky. Surely part of the camping experience.
Or try and go back to sleep - medically probably good practice at my age!?

I don’t want to spend my holidays cleaning a Porta Potti. Each to his own.

Thank you for all your good suggestions with lots I’d never thought of, I will start making a list.

Beer, wine and rum was the first on my mental list, then a Nespresso machine. Do you need to take your own toilet roll if you just use the toilets on the campsite?
The porta potti is really a psychological security blanket. My better half says she would prefer one and I had my prostate removed last year because of cancer and although I’m so much better I do want to wee a bit more suddenly after a few drinks

What is a mattabooboo?
