Crank oil seal Leaks

Just an update on Oil Leaks from the crank oil seals ; we have had our T6 199 4 Motion in the Sheffield van centre twice now to sort out leaks from the crank oil seals, it is an involved job taking days to complete. An expensive job to do if the owner has to pay for it. Fortunately our van was still covered by the VW warranty and we were lucky that we had purchased the additional 2 year extended warranty when we ordered the van new; something we would recommend anyone to do when ordering a new Cali.
So in our 37000 miles 38 months of ownership the vehicle has been off the road for over 7 weeks due to the fault, mostly waiting for the workshop to have the time to schedule in the work. We were told not to use the van whilst waiting for the repair the first time it was diagnosed in 2020, and on the second occasion (May 2022,) the California was in the van centre and was therefore left with them until they could fit the work in.
The oil leak isn't easy to detect as the engine under tray covers and catches any leak! (Look up earlier posts for further information).
Just to alert others to the issue we have had, and we wondered if anyone else has similar experiences? Needless to say the van centre wouldn't offer us a loan vehicle of any type and contacting them was often difficult.

As a footnote if you look at the T6 forum there are several submissions from van owners with similar issues of oil seal leaks and the unreliability it creates for owners who depend on their vehicles for a living. VW are not very forthcoming about the issue but the technician, who was working on our van, told me that the workshop had a steady stream of vans requiring major work on the crank oil seal leaks, which created issues with the workshop diary!
