Custom build - 2020 Westfalia Club Joker 4Motion - Offroad build thread

I'm fortunate enough to live very close to Hess in Alpnach, Switzerland. This is a great video of an offroad build. I just ordered their custom tailgate rack with airline fittings all around (looks tough!) and can't wait! Always a source of inspiration (and emptying of the wallet):

Thanks! I did add the diff-lock option, yes. It was about €1000+ but i figure in reality that will more than pay for itself on resale, as a lot of people will want that option.

A week ago I replaced the rear 40x40 standard pop-up roof vent with a nice Fiamma P-Touch fan vent. This has made a huge difference in keeping the van cool on sunny days! At low speed it makes very little noise, and opening one side window (opposite side of the sun if possible) draws in a nice cool breeze. At low setting it only uses 5 watts or less. Pleased!

Fan looks great had toyed with fitting a Maxx fan after seeing califamily YouTube fit on there nuggets plus.

What mpg you getting on them BFGs? My old t6 on them was doing 24-28.
Getting around 30-33mpg on M/S t6.1

My Speedo is about 8% off at the moment so that figure is not accurate at the moment. I get 9.2 liters/100 KM’s. That’s the metric we use here. To resolve the speedo issue they will use my van as a project to install the digital cockpit and adjust parameters with ODIS. Should get that done in a few weeks once parts arrive.

How are you finding the van after the pendle performance remaps?

Worth the investment for sure. They do both the engine and DSG remaps and it’s paired perfectly. It results in performance similar to the 204 engine with a remapped 150. But with the 204 you have bi-turbo and with the Transporter only 1. That said I was after torque more than speed and that is phenomenal now!

So I just took my first hot shower with the fan. Outside was super cold and raining. What a difference! All the steam just flows outside so no issues inside the van. Highly recommend!

Installed a QuadLock wireless charger and mount. This is the motorcycle version as it’s more stable and can use the pivot mount. Works great!

Yesterday I got busy with my favorite mechanic to install a Victron Cyrix-Li. We ran some very high guage wires from the starter battery that can support over 200A. This device is a relay that will send full power from the alternator to the Lithium leisure batteries for super fast charging.

Todays project was to install custom black powder coated airline rails and surfboard mounts to the drivers side of the high roof. Very pleased with the outcome:
