Cycle Carrier removal

I just removed my cycle carrier, no point in lugging it around without bikes and the protection strips at the top odf the door look like this.

Any ideas what to do?

Remove them with the help of a hair dryer and purchase some new ones.

I just went to order the replacement kit. £6 delivery. For some light pieces of plastic?

Maybe not. I will have a go at making my own.

Helicopter tape or similar will be ideal.

Make sure the mastic seal on the inside of the door, where the clamps bear is still intact. Could be the source of corrosion if severely damaged. Just a precaution.
