So after around 2 weeks same old problems again, tap not working, water pumps relentless running!

And now something new, the navigation/radio has gone so dark I literally cannot see the screen during the day whilst driving, but if I turn off the ignition and leave it for a few seconds, it’s as bright as the sun..

Lol will this ever end?

To stop the pumps relentless running Iv wired in a simple switch and turn it off manually now. It’s booked in for the 18th November now with a different dealer. Let’s see,

Booked the ferry to Belfast for a week over Christmas. Let’s see how that goes.

Anyone else with the same radio/ navigation dark screen?

Hi T3z,

I have the same rap problems, I find it works well if I don’t let any water get on the tap and keep it dry where the tap meets the sink.

the navigation panel darkness issue also started on mine yesterday, at the same time, my speedometer backlight stopped and heated seats stopped too.

I have the same darkness in the speedometer and small digital screen between the speedo and rev counter.

not checked heated seats or steering yet.

I’m booked in on Tuesday, the heated seats light up (1, 2, 3 dots but no heat, I think the steering wheel works fine, very odd! I’ll let you know what happens on Tuesday

Hello,

Sorry to hear the problems. It sounds very like what we had:

1. Dark radio screen
2. Dark screen on the dashboard
3. No lights at the bottons
4. No lights at the emergency unit
5. The internal cab lights should not work either

It took several controllers and the emergency unit to change before it might have been fixed. Also specialists from VW Ireland and VW Germany were involved

At the moment we are in Germany and all seems fine. But it took a long time to get there and I hope it is fixed now.

All the information that can't be seen are important for save driving and for my opinion the camper is not fit to use. So ours was weeks on end with the VW dealer.

I will post an update when I am at home, easier than to type on the phone.

Happy travelling Grand California
Eberhard
