Hi,

Bit embarrassing but managed to drop jubilee clip of end of garden hose, into fresh water tank. Have tried to fish for it with a magnet but think i need to open up.

does the lid screw on or is it just pushed on, any tips on opening or other ideas appreciated!

thank you!

Oh dear :censor the best thing to do is empty the tank then unscrew the large round lid found in the wardrobe under a round plug it will be tight I used a small piece of wood tap it round gently with a rubber mallet once undone you should be able to reach in and retrieve the jubilee clip :thumb
I made a tool for undoing mine after the first time good luck

Use a magnet on a string. Unless the clip is non magnetic - which it's bound to be!

All sorted, the wood and mallet worked a treat, once loosened it was easy to unscrew and retrieve.

thanks!

Hi

I've been trying to open the fresh water tank to get at the pump. I've tried the piece of wood and mallet without any luck. @calikev can you send me a picture of the tool you made, or the tool itself!

Does anyone else have any ideas?

This is for my 2015 Cali SE.

Many thanks

Rick

I use this to open the lid. Use it through the opened wardrobe at the end of the Cali.U7H7067100-waterdophevel-1-800x500.jpg
Or make one yourself from a piece of wood with two bolts.

Marc.

Hi. It's a pain isn't it! I struggled for a long time as i needed to replace the pump. Eventully I bought the special tool, and still struggled. Then released the pressure by opening up the inlet and it released really easily. im in Essex if you want to borrow the tool?

If you empty the fresh water tank, firstly always take off the inlet, because emptying causes a vacuum in the tank.
But then the lid may be still stuck.

After opening the lid succesfully, applay a tiny bit of vaseline before closing the lid.

Hi Marc

I did think about a vacuum in the tank. I assume that takin the filler cap off must release the pressure. Anyway, I've given up the DIY approach and going to take the van to a local van and caravan specialist. I spoke to them on the phone and they seemed to know what they are doing.

I'll report back.

Thanks again everyone

I found it easy to open after leaving the filler cap off (no vacuum) and then using a wrench and hammer handle suggested in this post
