Just ordered a Brompton g line elec.bike. Looking for thoughts/ideas for charging from the Cali Ocean. If I’m on ehu no problem, if not could I use the 240v from the under seat inverter?
Is there a gizmo gadget thingy from the 12v sockets?
When I can I’m getting solar panels and maybe an ecoflow unit.

Ps. If the underseat socket is viable, could this be used while driving as the leisure batteries will be charging?
This is a very poor photo from the battery pack, I’ll try and post something more intelligible.

What's the wattage of the eBike motor?

I'm not a massive expert on these things but I have a 600w Santa Cruz Heckler SL and I've been using an Anker power bank so as not to deplete the 90aH LifePO4 I had fitted in my previous Knaus camper. Not sure that using the Cali's leisure battery is a realistically efficient way of doing things.

The VW inverter is reted at 300w so you can't connect the Brompton power adapter which needs 432w. My recommendation is to get an Ecoflow and charge from that. Install a EF 800w alternator charge and you'll be charging the EF almost as quickly as if you were charging off the mains.

There may be a car transformer option specifically for it. Transformers just step up or down the voltage and are built to a maximum current, this one looks to be about 94 watts ie 47 volts x 2 amps which could theoretically easily work from one of the 12v supplies (a bit more because nothing is 100% efficient). It’s would be a fair load unless you were driving &/or had solar. Certainly much better value than a massive 240v battery pack.

As a rule of thumb stepping up or down dc to dc isn’t wasteful ac to dc or dc to ac is really wasteful.

Hope that makes sense, or message me and I’ll help you look. A better photo would be ideal.
