Fitting side running boards

Has anyone had experience fitting running boards, web sites seem to suggest they are a bit of a pain to fit, but supplier assures me they are straight forward (they also have a free technical help desk).

Half price offer on, £199 including delivery. Apart from the obvious advantage in aiding getting in and out of the van they will also stop car doors banging the side of my Cali and of course they will look neat on her.
Any advice appreciated.

Not fitted these side steps but have fitted side bars which are easy. Would be interesting to see the fitting instructions.

down side is you can't use your vw jack .as bars cover jacking points .all bars are a pain if not got a ramp to put the van on .

Good point OP needs to check on that. The side bars I fitted on to my cali are an exact copy of the VW ones, but cheaper & can still use jack.
