Ive been working near a bike park for a few weeks,shame not to take the bike.The van has been ideal.Awning out,cobb on with stew,hour half blast round the trials ready to come back to a good hot meal!
Brilliant!!Yep van needs a bit of a clean.

How much do you use your Cobb and how do you find it? Probably going to be on the Christmas list!

Yes,van does get used.

I use the cobb a lot,it works for the food I like to eat.Stews,jacket potatoes event the odd roast.Its easy to set up and use.Im not the worlds best chef but would recommend one.
I usually put a stew or something on,go for a ride or takes the dogs for a wonder by the time i come back the stews ready.
It split and stored under the kitchen units,I have a stir fry pan that goes with it,its ideal with the dogs (or young kids) because the outer does not get hot.
I have cooked once inside the cali but would not advise on that!!!

A word of warning.
The Cobb lower body does keep relatively cool and can be placed on a table while in use.

But lid gets very hot.
Burningly so, as I found out when I burnt my hand picking it up this year. The lid is not insulated and sits only a matter of a few inches above the hot coals

So do keep your kids at a distance while you are using it.

Bought some from here last summer (online) and must of been old stock as they would not light !! when buying check the batch date as I think they have a very short shelf life.

If you have trouble lighting Cobbles with their inbuilt ignition coating, then put half a firelighter underneath, I know this kind of defeats one point of buying Cobbles but at least it gets them going.

A top tip I was given is simply to light the cobblestone (in its wire fire basket) on the Cali gas stove and then just pop it into the Cobb. The lifting fork makes this an easy manoeuvre and the Cobb can be held close to the stove while you make the transfer.

Sorry Jody,not been on the site for a while.I use the cobbles,generally use twenty in a month.I tend to light it whilst in the basket,if its extremly windy i light them from the stove in the van!Ive used charcoal to create the BBQ effect when out with the wife and dogs (dogs prefer BBQ sausages )

Yes,I've had a couple of boxes that would not light no matter what I tried,ended up having to use fire lighter to get it going.However that was a couple of years ago,not had any issues since.
