Higher PSi water pump

Has anyone fitted a higher liters per minute Reich pump in their 600/680? the one in my 680 shower is very slow/weak. I understand they are the 19 L/Min.
I can get a Reich 22 L/min or a 25 L/min here in NZ and wondered if anyone else had fitted one? And would they be better?

My Reich submersible pump was frozen and I put in a new one.
Also a bit more capacity. I placed one of 25l/min with 2.1 bar 75 watts with non-return valve.

The following:
• The current consumption is 6.25 A, so increase the fuse from 5 A to 7.5 A. (This is in the technical cabinet the 4th or so from the right.)
• The Truma and Reich faucets can easily handle the higher pressure. (4/10 ato)
• The pipes are strong enough.
• Water consumption is increasing..
• The pump is bigger. Because of this, it may not be at the very bottom of the tank, I haven't figured that out yet.
• The question is whether a non-return valve is required, as a result the pump can freeze,
• I like it well.
• I have translated the above with google translate, there may be a mistake in it.

I have ordered a 22l one, @Harry H GC680 when you say frozen, noting this may be translated, do you mean your pump failed and stopped working as opposed to it was frozen at below zero temperatures?
 
I think there was water left in it. At a temperature below 0 it broke.

I'd like to know if this works, as I have a feeling it's the width of the pipes not the capacity of the pump that is the issue in the GC.

Is there an issue? Do you think the pressure or the flow is poor? I haven’t used the shower and have ordered a spare pump as a precaution, it just happens to be higher flow Rate and pressure rated.
 
Hi we have had no issue with the pressure but I suppose it’s down to personal preference and how often you are able or want to top up.
 
Top up fresh water? It would be good to have a bigger fresh water tank. We are used to packing in a cali and almost don';t know what to do with all the storage. Some might be an extra 50l of water in some bottles in the unused cupboards!
 
I have a replacement of the original pump and pressure is absolutely fine - however on one occasion I did notice that after a full drain down and refill the pressure was noticeably lower. It wasn’t until driving again that we then had lots of air clear as soon as we used the shower again, and the pressure and flow went back to normal (ie, good).

So I put that down to an airlock. Perhaps try a drain down (including the boiler and the water tank drain valve and opening the shower up to allow a full clear).

lk heb de originele pomp herplaatst. Het rendement van een grotere pomp is beperkt en het past niet in de houder onderin het reservoir.
 
Our shower pressure (IMHO) is pretty poor on our 600. I think there is some sort of fault on it too as when it runs, the pressure slowly drops off over a minute or so to nothing. You then have to turn the tap off and on again for it to resume. Really annoying. Sink tap appears OK, but to be fair you don't tend to use that one for as long as the shower tap.

Might it be an airlock?

I was toying with the idea of replacing it with a much bigger one like the types you get on boats (Jabsco Par Max, etc). Anyone else ventured down this path?

@Kiwijack - did you end up upgrading the pump?
Also tempted to switch to a 'constant on' pump with a pressure switch rather than the dodgy microswitch taps...

No did not replace. Instead I sold my 680 as I was having problems with the dealer honouring the warranty with the bathroom tap.
