Hook-up Cock-up

Hi,

Guilty of a schoolboy error yesterday evening. While on hook-up i plugged in a small low watt Kampa fan heater for the first time. I tried it in the 2-pin euro socket with an adaptor and unsurprisingly it didn’t work - it was a mistake not a test.

I now realise this type of item should be plugged into the 3-pin socket on the side of the kitchen unit (after reading the manual). I just thought the 2-pin would be the one being on its own and away from the12v socket.

Anyway, everything seems ok but should I check anything for damage?

TIA

Steve

The 2 pin socket is supplied by the leisure batteries through a DC-AC inverter.
The maximum power you can draw from that is 150 watts. If your heater exceeded that figure, at best you may have blown a fuse, at worst the inverter.

If you have a laptop, try plugging that in via an adapter and see if it takes a charge. If so you are OK.

As @AlanC above. Try plugging a low wattage <150W appliance in and see if it works.
