How do you know when gas is running out?!

Butane and Propane operate at different pressures!!

Quite right, the pressures are designed to be different. However, when we crossed the Americas (north, central and south) last year the chances of buying butane were nil or close enough to that, so we had the 907 bottle filled with propane and it worked just right for the 7 months we were there! Did it comply with strict regulations from Europe? Possibly not, but we didn't break any local laws and we cooked just as we wished...

So what what sort of regulator did you have to use ?.. :!:

Just worried that if I tried this I would go and blow the roof of the van.. :doh

Still on the plus side it would take care of the blistering issues.

Just the standard regulator, no problems at all over the 7 months other than one burner getting a little clogged up once - cleared by a bush method as I forgot to take the splined tool for the top plate of the burner.

Don't think that a big bang would clear the blistering, but if anyone has succeeded please let me know...

It's a great bit of kit and it also easily fits in our kayaks/bike bags (folded it's smaller than a mobile phone) as it's nice to have a brew/cook whilst out for the day. The gas cannister is the largest part!
