After several weeks in Spain, a week skiing in Pyrenees, 4 two-ways trips from Cardiff to Norwich during my move..... definitive now my Cali's carpet are the proper place to sow potatoes, which led me to think I should consider clean it.... at some point... no rush.

The question here is how do you usually clean your Cali's floor carpets?

Put them in the washing mashine.I had fitted carpets but gave up after about a year in the living area after - cleaning plus I found the at times stopped the seat moving. So we use wool rug(which goes in the washing mashine).I also bought via ebay a large (off the roll) rubber mat which we use in winter months under rugs (take off rugs if muddy feet coming in)The rubber mat we roll up if I move seat forward to make up the bed.

I've got monster rubber mats, which are really good, but in that ocassion the Cali's floor "suffered" a lot.

How can you put then in the washing machine? you cannot remove the Cali's floor, can you?

Maybe I've expressed wrongly, where I can sow potatoes is in my Cali's floor, which is made with a carpet-like fabric, do it make sense?

Sorry I was refering to the living area. The front "fixed" carpet use a spray on carpet cleaner from Helfords. Wish they were black rather than gray in colour. I liked monster mats but found they wore a whole on drivers side after about a year

Do you mean the area under your feet when you are driving ? or the area under you feet when you are sat on the rear seat?

Allow to dry. A good brushing and vacuuming and then I use Autoglym Interior Shampoo and follow the instructions.

Alternatively - Get an Internal Valet. There is a car wash down Cardiff Bay, next to the Asda Petrol station that has, I think a Valet service but also you can do it yourself.

Actually I could sow potatoes at both, the driving area, which is grey and fix, and the living are, where I've got grey Brandrup carpet (not sure whether Brandrup carpets are washable in a wash machine)

We jet wash front monster mats, use autoglym carpet shampoo on grey carpets, rear floor mat goes in washing machine. Hard rear floor gets cif scrub n rinse. Monthly seems adequate with daily school runs and daily driver use. Different if just been camping or on beach etc, tend to do full clean asap after tho! All other internal surfaces wiped over during normal weekly cleaning.

Vinegar and water...I take a mini spray bottle with me....one of those you get for travelling ie small!

Monster rubber rugs in the front. Brush out or scrub depending how bad it is.
Turtle mats in the back. Wash whenever I feel like it depending how muddy it has been as they are machine washable.
Nail brush and scrub with water with minimal fairy liquid in it (watch your paintwork) on the step.

Maximum impact, minimal effort.

Thanks guys, I'll follow your advices.

What can happen to the paintwork?

During the very very hot summer on continent last year my rubber VW Monster mats started leaving me with black feet and also some black stains on carpet so we binned them somewhere in Italy! FYI
