Hi, I have a 21 plate Ocean and sinse the first day have had yellow lights on my dash dictating my driving experience. .....It will take too long to go into the various issues whilst under warrenty and it causes me PTSD
just to discuss it.
However the latest communication from the computer is....Lane assist unavailable yellow on the dash followed by the Engine managment light that restricts power....that then after 5 mins goes out and power fine.
the lane assist and the Automated Cruise control now does not work.....Im not bother by the former infact I have it switched off anyway.
I have bout a VAWS specific diagnotic tool to discover what the issues are and put the lights out and it says the fault is with the 1.engine electronics and 2. the brake electronics, which I guess governs the automated braking for the cruise control and 3.Distance regualtion
Before I go to the Garage and get totally robbed with little feedback as to what the issue is other that them telling me I need a new engine !! has anyone got any experience with this and can at least put me in the right direction and perhaps share any similar experiences and outcomes?
My van has still not exceeded 10K miles and the engine is fine....I cant help thinking that if it was not for the computer that drives all the extra nonscience that is not required my vehicle would be fine.
Could it be as simple as a softwear update???.......My diagnostic does not give me a softwear reference that (that it would seem looking at what AI suggests is a VW softwear code when I checked to see what latest updates were or possibly numbered) corresponds to anything VW would recognise.....it just gives softwear version 2676 and 0800 for the fault and a long number for the fault code which is related to my specific OBd11
My Tesla has 2 automated softwear upates per month for free which when the softwear dominates everything is important but I seem to have the same softwear dominence in my Cali and the only wayt to get a softwear update for the VW is to physically book in and pay for one from a main dealer it would seem.
I am frustrated as you may tell especially as I feel my vechicle needs a techie computer anaylist rather than a mechanic as I sense even the main dealers struggle to work out the sourse of a problem even though they have advanced VW softwear diagnostics!!!.........It feels like I am going to the dealer and saying I have an annoying squeak and asking them to diagnose and fix it.....they send you away and you find its still there.
Any advise and if any VW dealers online, why am i having so many dash light issues with a new vehicle....is this normal or have i just got a friday after noon ....is this something that a dealer can fix or do they just cross their fingers and hope?
Any helpful or experiential feedback welcome....Thank you
Simon
