Anyone know anything about the latest recall on the 204 engine. Mine is a 2023 204 4 Motion and it needs something in the software that protects the turbo apparently, booked in later this month? The dealer did say it I had had it mapped it would overwrite the map (good job I haven't yet) ;)

I wasn't aware there had been any failures etc?

I also have a 2023 204 4 Motion but have not heard anything.
Ditto so I checked the gov.uk website and it doesn't state a recall for my van either. I wonder what the manufacturing cut off date is?

I've just had a service @vw and they have done mine at the same time. 2024 T6.1 204 ocean I asked what it was and they said something to do with the turbos.

The Government website will only flag Formal Safety Recalls, this is more likely to be a proactive service action to prevent customer failures / warranty costs and only the dealers will have insight into what they are and what vehicles they specifically apply to.(in the UK)

People use the term "recall" liberally, which is understandable. A recall is a legal safety item that is logged with the government and best efforts via sending letters to all registered owners MUST be carried out to get the vehicles in and the safety issue fixed. Think Takoma airbags or accelerator pedals (that ended up a user error thing anyway).

This is a more likely a service bulletin and can be done as and when, usually at next service or, depending on your dealer, sometimes not at all. Given they get a small set payment to do them from the OEM, they quite happy to do as many as they can but from memory they are not allowed to "tout" for you to come in and do it.
