Leaking Roof

The Ombudsman has my case as of 2 weeks ago. He has been waiting for VWFS and VWCS to respond. No replies yet.

I am not sure why VW can’t fit the T6 version of bellows as they are tried and tested. Product works, just needs the manufacturer to restart production.

I know lots of self build camper owners who never had issues with the roof/bellows.

As has been postulated that supplier may no longer exist or unable to supply due to a multitude of reasons.

I thought manufacturers had a minimum timeframe that they have to supply spare parts?

Exactly. We don’t know the circumstances driving the change.

Not necessarily the same exact design. The new bellows is backward compatible. Being functional and fit for purpose is a completely different matter of course :talktothehand

True. Would be interesting to hear VW’s stance on this - or anything for that matter!

Can you keep me informed about how you get on

Still with the Ombudsman who is awaiting responses from VWFS & VWCS Executive Office.

I had the same issue with a leaking canvass Wednesday this week. Light persistent rain and medium wind. The leaks were on many of the seams.

Is anyone else have problems with a leaking roof. Our new VW California 6.1 has less than 2000 miles since new. Three times whilst away the roof leaked.
I’ve contacted VW Customer Care but have little joy and they are not responding.
The dealership isn’t being helpful at all.
I’ve got it booked in for a repair locally but there’s about 6 California’s in front of me with the same issue and there’s a problem with getting the replacement bellows
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I have had the same problem .... Totally disgusting that VW has allowed this to happen. I just bought a new ocean sport that cost me a small fortune as I thought I was going for an upgrade to my pro converted van that I have had out in all weathers and hasn't leaked. Took my new camper out for the first time and it leaked everywhere. after a huge fight with the dealership I have now returned the van for a full refund ... you could buy a £10 jacket out of tesco that wouldn't leak like these roofs .....Very poor VW .... I have just kept my conversion as it better than the crap that VW are supplying right now !!!!!
