I have just ordered Compact Pod from Maxx Camp "Flower Power"
I will be driving to Germany first week in December to Collect
We will be Visiting some Christmas Markets and staying in Van
I wiil put a review of pod when we get Back

Fantastic, that will be really helpful. Thank you!

Would be very interested in seeing some pictures and hearing about your experience over in Germany. Very tempted by that option myself! :D

I did look at Maxx Camp a year or so ago and had some correspondence with them. I decided to follow Owen and make my own pod. The Fritz was too big for the two seater Beach Bench (couldn't make the bed up).

Looks like the Compact could be a good option if it replaced the Beach side unit in the two seater, but what would concern me would be safety if it sat in front of passengers as in the 3 seater Beach bench. Not a lot of space between rear passenger and an extremely hard object. See here. http://www.maxxcamp.de/en/modules/variomodule-compact/index.php.

I'd be interested in your review. Just noticed that we haven't included our Beach version in our signature perhaps that would help. I'll update mine today.

Another person who would love to hear how you find the pod. Still trying to decide between compact pod and the Reimo one. Loads of good reviews of Reimo but still think compact would be the better size as a slimmer unit. Just not enough people out there with one to give feedback or to see one in the flesh. Keep us all updated, cheers.

Just got back from trip to & very very pleased with Pod
Mileages aprox
Wife and I left London 1pm for euro tunnel
150 miles to Bruges where we stayed in Motorhome car park near centre
Plenty of time for Meal out and wander old town
Friday :- breakfast at De Barge Hotel then 150miles to Cologne Christmas Market
Early evening drive 280 miles to Tubingen, Stayed in Hotel. Time to Visit town Centre and enjoy gluhwein
Saturday:- we had arranged to meet Martin of Maxxcamp 11am 40 miles away .lovely scenic drive through forest with trees tinged with Snow for give us that extra taste of Christmas
They are not open on Saturday but he came out to meet us , fit pod and let us have quick look around Factory(impeccably clean)
Plan was to Visit one of the Christmas Markets in Stuttgart but noticed one on in Riedlingen so we walked up to Market from Maxxcamp.
Also Noticed that there was a Motor home Park just across road from Maxx camp
After Lunch of Bratwurst and Saurcraut we decided to drive all the way back to Bruges with just a couple of Stops to try out new pod and shop at Aldi . 500 miles
Arrived at Bruges midnight
Motorhome car park great, you just take ticket , pay 15 euros ( 1 night) on exit and you get hook up for that as well.
Sunday:- nice lie in after long drive then Walk into Bruges to visit their Christmas Markets and Lunch of Flemish Stew in Quaint Old Restaurant
Left Bruges at about 4pm for 8.20pm Eurotunnel with time to stock up on Booze at Carrefoure for Christmas
Home to Wanstead by 10 pm
Overall journey 1250 miles. Mostly on Motorway with no tolls
Will upload pictures of Pod later

Looking forward to seeing the pod as its on our shopping list, sounds like a great festive trip too.

What a quality trip. That sounds like what the Cali is made for!

Can you post lots of pics and a review of the compact when you get the chance? It is definitely in my sights as a possible option for the van....

As said previously looking forward to your views on the pod and pictures, jealous of your trip. Thanks Dave

Hi
Can someone tell me how to upload photos
I seem to be having trouble putting them on !!!!!

Thanks Kev
Photos sent
We are really pleased with pod
We have put bed up and it works Ok. Bolts that hold it in place easy to use and relocate into rails.
Nice feature is the door over water tanks clips into front rail and 2 magnets hold it in place with drawer open.
Top drawer had cutlery tray.
maxxcamp gave us small towel and drink as present.
Unit very light and easy to lift in and out

Are the pictures going to be uploaded onto here soon? Any news

Joseph,

What extras did you get with the pod?

How is it powered?

Cheers
Blakey

I'm waiting for the pictures to come through :thumb

Thanks Calikev, I think there are a few of us very interested in this particular kitchen pod. Cheers

Sorry to anyone waiting for pictures of Pod
My iPhone won't let me email photos and forum saying too much MB
I will get them on soon

If you are using the Tapatalk ap on the iphone then you can add pics when replying via that. Click the + icon and then you get options to either take a photo or load one from your library. It seems to do the resize and hosting for you.

Please can we have pictures and any more info advice on how the pod is working. Does it move from side position to behind the seat with ease?

Hi
I'm still having Trouble putting on pictures
The pod is exactly how it looks on Website
I ordered the retro print with the hippy graffiti
I have sink, tap that runs from a submersible pump fitted inside with fresh and waste water tanks
The 12v lead plugs into the socket on the door post behind the unit
It normally fits sideways facing the door but turns to sit behind the front passenger seat when making up the downstairs bed. 2 turn bolt hold it in place in the floor track
The door that covers the water tanks unclips to form a table held up by opening the top drawer and is held tight by magnets
It is very well made of lightweight ply and aluminium
The top drawer has a cutlery tray
Although expensive i would recommend it

Joseph Thanks for the update, do you lock it in place from the back or open the front and lock it? Also one end appears to be cut away near the bottom and the other isn't , what is the reason for thi as its hard to see from the photos? Have a great Xmas cheers.

If anyone wants me to send pictures by text
My mobile is 07836605506 or you can call if you like
The 2 bolts that hold the unit in place are easily accessible
One sit inside under a shelf holding the waste tank and the other is outside on the left

Here are photos of Joseph's Maxxcamp compact pod which he struggled to post. Thanks to Joseph for forwarding them to me :thanks Hope these can be viewed OK

Thank you for sharing these pictures. What are the dimensions of this compact unit?

Dear Joseph,

From these pictures it looks like the seat just behind the maxxcamp unit can only be used by a small child - no leg room available? Was the seat touching the multiflex board?

It would really really love to get an idea of the width, height and depth of this unit.

How complex is it to turn it.. if you have to do this every day you make up the bed, doesn't it get annoying?

What I like about the pod is that this is the only that allows one to rotate both front seats and still have a "living area" to sit around and put up the table.
