Hi everyone.
Planning on getting a projector for rainy days and winter evenings.
I have pretty much decided on the Nebula. I can get the mk1 for £240 on Amazon (renewed), but am worried it won't be bright enough. What are your real world experiences? Should I spend the extra £120 on the mk2 which is twice as bright?

The reality is that portable mini projectors are never going to be great in the daylight - watchable, but you'll need all the blinds down etc. I've got a xgimi logo pro which is similar in spec. Brilliant in the dark, passable in bright light. Found this brief video on YouTube which may help.

I have one. In daylight pretty poor but dusk very good.

Watching the cricket a while back using the side of the awning as a screen.

Definitely needs a darker environment, but well worth £140.

I own the Nebula apollo, whereas most people seem to go for the more expensive Nebula capsule.
I agree with the above mentioned comments: in daylight you'll have to close all teh curtains and make it dark for a decent viewing. When it's dark, you have a great image.

I have the nebula capsule 1, its only really useable in the dark because they arent very bright. Netflix, Prime and Disney+ what more could I need? You can even use usb sticks when data isnt available.

It is however superb, close the blinds and the picture is great.

That's just what I want to hear. On the odd rainy day, I am happy to shut out the world and binge Netflix.
Do you happen to know if I could connect a laptop to the Nebula via HDMI? Thinking I could use the DVD drive in the laptop to play my GoT boxes.
Hopefully, it is never going to rain whilst I am camping, so this post is pointless.
But from experience in previous life with a caravan, first solid day of rain is fun, second gets a bit wearing on the third you are ready to commit Hari Kari.

We've got the mark 2 and used it for the first time last Saturday.... sat it on the table and projected it onto pull down blind on sliding door.
Picture was fine and watchable obviously it would be better with a proper projector screen but don't think ill bother as the cali has one already inbuilt.
Can't comment on the mark 1 but would definitely recommend the mark2.

Looks good. Do you know if you can see it from outside, when looking at the outer side of the blind?

Nebulas are currently on offer on Amazon. If anyone is interested, possibly a good time to buy :)

For anyone that is interested. Costco are currently selling the Anker Nebula Capsule II Android Pocket 200 ANSI Lumen Projector, D2421V11 for £379.99.

Just bought one so it’s charging at the moment.

All Anker Nebula projectors are currently on offer on Amazon. Refurbished ones (+12month warranty) for less than £200.

I just purchased the Nebula capsule max on offer tried it and sent it back as i was not impressed with the picture quality. It was tested in a dark room also in the van but not for me at the moment although i may try and get a demo of the Xgimi Halo plus at some point.

Fyg - Netflix will be poor quality if viewing thru the Nebula APP, due to the agreement that Anker have with Netflix. If you play Netflix via phone / HDMI direct to the projector then it’s a good quality image.

The Xgimi looks excellent but it’s around £700 (v £200 for a refurb Nebula Capsule). So a bit pricey for us to have knocking about in the van.

We like the basic capsule as you can charge from 12v (or power bank) with a USB cable. Think the rest of the range need a 3pin plug or inverter to run the charger, which can be a pain if the battery runs out mid film in the garden.

Interesting as never had an issue with our Nebula Max. Wish it charged from USB but that’s about it. The picture has been spot on (with the right darkness, normal for these size projectors) and now we have the BlackVue in car wifi network it just connects to that for streaming. Netflix was fine for us. If only the screens from Dutronic were back in stock (still not) I could use the brackets I bought for it from the club shop.

Currently awaiting delivery of Cali. Bought the Nebula Capsule Max in the Amazon sale last week.
Like the price/performance and size. Have downloaded Netflix and pleased that you can download movies from Netflix to the Nebular for offline playback. Also, found out how to get Skygo app installed.

I was looking for a small portable projector for use in my flat in various rooms so a few months ago ordered the Xgimi Halo+ due to its highish brightness, expensive but waited to get a good offer from Amazon. Wasnt happy with the picture quality or brightness so sent it back & ordered the Nebula capsule max which I also returned to Amazon. This was just as bad in my opinion so pretty much gave up on the idea until I heard about the new Nebula Capsule 3 a few weeks ago. Its a new model from Nebula & although quite expensive though I would give it a try. Very happy with both the picure quality & the brightness of the image, also performance in fairly light conditions is excellent. A huge improvement over the other two I tried.
