New Cali Roof Topper & Awning Side Panels - Now Available

Re: New Cali Roof Topper & Awning Side Panels - Now Availabl

Hi again, Simon in Spain here....and a freezing cold and wet Spain too so I feel right at home...  . I'd be very interested in the price of a windowed roof topper and sides to completely enclose the awning. I'll keep an eye out for when the website gets up and running! Also postage cost would be important of course. I'd be using the awning panels in winter as well as for summer shade. Do or can the sides be zipped or closed to stop air or rain? Great to see a top quality UK product coming onto this market! Need more of that! All the best to CaliToppers.... and to all on this site! Simon :D

Re: New Cali Roof Topper & Awning Side Panels - Now Availabl

Thank you Simon for your kind words :thumb
We currently produce one side and a front for the awning we are looking at making the final side to house a door so you would be fully enclosed. As the sides ar reversible nothing to stop you ordering a front and two sides to enclose yourself without a door :thumb
I will work out a postage cost for you and get back to you
Thanks again simon

Great, thanks! Can the corners be joined in any way to keep rain, heat or mozzies out? Still have to fly up to the North of Spain to collect the Cali yet!  :thanks

Re: New Cali Roof Topper & Awning Side Panels - Now Availabl

If like the Brandrup ones it will have Velcro down all the sides so they can join together

Re: New Cali Roof Topper & Awning Side Panels - Now Availabl

lth you are right the brandrup ones are designed to come right out and not enclose it
ours are a compromise you can have them out a little or completely joined

Very easy to fit, around 5-10 mins maximum with two of us, I can also confirm it easily fits into the tailgate with the chairs.

What makes the Cali-Topper unique is the integrated elastic cord and the front and the back, this gives it a very snug fit even in winding conditions.

Looks Smart Martin :thumb

Have you got any pictures of the fixing on the awning side.

Re: New Cali Roof Topper & Awning Side Panels - Now Availabl

John the Cali-topper has an elastic strap sewn into the edges with a loop each end to attach to the thumbscrews one at each end if you have the awning fitted. If you have no awning fitted you use the supplied bungee straps on 4 thumbscrews. This is why the topper is a great fit.

Re: New Cali Roof Topper & Awning Side Panels - Now Availabl

My topper arrived yesterday morning just in time for me heading to the Scottish meet at Blair Atholl. Managed to fit it myself - so very impressed! Really cold last night (-5C) and wet before that - so certainly a good test. Worked really well and it's now in the garage thawing and drying! Definitely kept the top insulated. Will keep you updated on further adventures :thanks. I've taken some photos and will upload them in next day or two.

Thanks for the update eanni, how did you get on with the fittings etc .. ?

Re: New Cali Roof Topper & Awning Side Panels - Now Availabl

It was fine thanks - raised the roof about 10 - 12in and threw it over. Made sure it was reasonably straight and then raised the roof completely. Sides came down and I attached the short bungees to the thumbscrews which I'd slid into the channels. Slightly more difficult taking it off but would say this was down to the cold - my hands were freezing and the topper was frozen as I took it off. Really pleased that I could put it on and take it off myself - mainly by standing in the front door steps. Next challenge will be to fold it back into the bag!

Re: New Cali Roof Topper & Awning Side Panels - Now Availabl

Please could you let me know if and when you will make a topper that accommodates roof bars? Thanks. Dom.

Looks a great fit. Looks like it got a good test :thumb

Re: New Cali Roof Topper & Awning Side Panels - Now Availabl

Cali next to me had a Khayham(?) as you can see, and another had a Vanorak. I prefer no windows, think its quieter and certainly despite the -5C temperature was cosy - only put heater on for short time in early morning about 0630. It's been hanging in garage and is now defrosted and dry - ready for next test
:smile
