New T6.1 order delays

I spoke to VW chat today and they gave me an unconfirmed build date of wk 18 2022 for an order placed end of June 2021.

I read somewhere else that letters were going to folks who have to wait more than 26 wks, but have no evidence of that.
Well mines been 49 weeks

I don’t know if it’s an indication either way, but the in the last three days five or six new Californias have appeared on the Volkswagen stock website in Belgium, before this the same four or five Californias had been sitting in stock without much, if any, movement.
So this may be a fluke, or it may be a sign things are picking up again.

According to VW chat my Cali Ocean 4wd went into production in week 26 and is still at the factory 12 weeks later.
We are in exactly the same boat - see my post on 9 Sep, page 185. Spoke to the dealer again on Friday and they still have no further information.

Anybody order recently and if so, what wait time were you advised?

I ordered an Ocean 4motion on 3rd September and was told 10-12 months

Ordered our 1st Sept and dealer said most likely June/July next year. we are hoping to have it for summer hols but not holding out much hope!

Thank you. I know SMG are quoting 12months from order at the moment.

My Beach 6.1 took 4 months when i ordered last November!

Beaches are certainly coming through quicker than Oceans, I've seen some this year in under 6 months. I'm going to wager that you might be pleasantly surprised.
Unlike me, who ordered an Ocean 350 days ago, and still no delivery date....(it is in build apparently).

We are really hoping so as the kids are constantly asking if the camper is ready yet!

Unusual to have to go two pages down the forum to find this thread, everyone giving up hope?!

Quick Q - I ordered in April and spec'd what IMHO are the nicest looking transporter wheels, which at the time of ordering were standard fitment on the Spanish Ocean, ie these:

Now it's going into MY22 territory, I see on the config the standard wheels are now the 20 hole 16" steelies with covers. Which do you think will arrive on the van? I really don't like these, although not the end of the world, I imagine the standard wheels are easy to pick up barely used 2nd hand.

Thanks!
Another question is whether you can again lock/unlock with your phone via the WeConnect app, and switch on the parking heater. I understand you could on MY20, the feature was unavailable on MY21, but was set to return for MY22...
You got time for another coffee?!
@Dean Kennett did you work it out Dean?
You got a MY22 with wireless charging, and WeConnect locking and parking heater operation?

I would be unhappy with those as well, but I think you're correct that finding the "original" ones should be easy.

Thanks, thats good news. But no parking heater control (can be done with the remote anyway from a reasonable distance I hear), and no wireless phone charging in the dash?
The parking heater has indeed its remote control that works at least from inside our house to the Cali which is 50meters away. Haven't tried a longer distance yet.

We didn't order the wireless charging because of the high price. We just use our cable instead, as you have to bring it anyway when you're camping somewhere and want to charge your phone. The UK option list is different from the EU-list and the option is still available in the most recent brochure. I thinkthe wireless charging option costs about 500eu.

Ah yes sorry, missed that you weren't in the UK, where I've been told to expect wireless charging as standard on my UK MY22...

You would think that once your build week was confirmed that it was because they had the parts to build it! My build week is confirmed for next week, so I was hoping to receive my Ocean 8 weeks later, but I’m now doubting this after your experience. On a positive note I received a letter from VW today offering a free service pack deal or £500 plus Vat worth of free accessories!
