New T6.1 order delays

I’m in the same boat - mine has been in build since 19th July and I’ve no idea where it’s at as they’re no longer giving updates. However on a positive note I’ve received a letter today from VW Commercial apologising and offering £500 worth of accessories or a service plan! That’s cheered me up! I’d already asked the dealer to fit side bars so that’s them nearly covered!!

Got my letter this morning, identical to above. Was supposed to go into built this week so not sure what this means - will wait on the update from the dealer. £500 gesture a nice touch though.

Looking at accessories and had been thinking about getting a shower tent but it looks pretty expensive for what it is? The issue with all the VW accessories is that the aftermarket options seem to be better in most cases (and cheaper). Roofbar I'd probably opt for Thule for flexibility. Might take a punt on the bike rack.

I have checked with VW Chat today and they stated that my Build Week 39 is still confirmed and not provisional.
Have had a quick look at the accessories; nothing really appeals at the moment, so might just use the £500.00 plus VAT to reduce the final price.

I'd thought about a rear spoiler, hearing it can keep the rear window cleaner and it looks good, but £218 plus painting and fitting?. Think I'll go for it if I get the letter.
I also need an extra number plate for my cycle rack.
I wonder about the wind deflectors. Does anyone know if the VW ones are worth the money? (£120)

My dealer told me to call Customer Services (0800 783 4909) - they knew nothing but raised a ticket for me. I can expect a call within a week.

Got my letter this morning as well, and waiting for a call back from my dealer. Supposedly mine went into build week beginning 6th September, so no idea whether this is a standard letter to all of us who have faced massive delays to this point, or if this has come out because mine isn't in fact being built now. Any ideas people?

Customer service can only confirm that it was scheduled to start building last week, and can't say whether it is actually in build.

Got the same letter today. My supposedly confirmed wk36 build was last week amended to wk37 (i.e. now) in an e-mail from dealer "however build weeks have not been confirmed and may be subject to change." (start Feb order). With the arrival of the apology letter, I'm losing hope again.

Ordered mine in June too, not seen anything either.

Estimated delivery at time of order was April/May 22.

Hi mate, id assume you'll have a letter on its way, as we ordered the same time as you- December, with our Ocean being delivered to dealer approx 20th Sept according to them. Had a letter today.

Yeah spoke to the dealer and he said the letter comes from VW and not via them so I’m hoping the letter is on its way, only problem the military postal system on my camp is shocking and I often get birthday and Christmas cards 3 min s late

Other than that the dealer told me my van was in the port in the UK.

I got the letter today too. We ordered our Ocean end of Jan with week 36 confirmed build and I checked with VW chat today as I was also worried about more delays but they told me my build is expected to complete week 38 which is next week. Fingers and everything else crossed…

£500 for the hassle of delays. Hmmm I must ask my dealer here in Ireland if we are entitled to this gesture also. Ordered March 21 ....have been advised of build week 3 2022.

Don't bother with the VW wind deflectors they are stuck on and have heard that after a while they start to come unstuck, you can get Climair ones for half the price and they only take minutes to fit. Had Heko ones on my Lexus SUV and 2 out of the 4 flew off after 6 weeks dispite all the clip still being in place.

Don't bother with the VW wind deflectors they are stuck on and have heard that after a while they start to come unstuck,

If you clean the frame properly with the supplied wipes there’s no reason for the stuck on ones to come off.
Mine lasted 6 years and 60,000 miles so didn’t hesitate to get another set for the new van.

Thats nice of VW. I'm in a similar boat with the Landrover I ordered back in April. Should have collected it by now, but its been "unslotted" (no build date).

LR provided an ultimatum in August on the digital dash due to the semi conductor issue. Accept an analogue dash and we can supply the vehicle on the date given. To retro fit the dash would cost £1000, as an optional extra, its around £550.

As the specification of the model I've ordered is at the higher end its included within the price. No compensation offered from LR for accepting the downgrade, or a retro fit offer. If you still want the digital dash, that you've paid for, then your original order is resubmitted.

Nearly one month on and still no news.

Now the bones of all this is LR have been supplying cars that were ordered in June and July this year, correctly specified. So its a bit pot luck.

Received my letter from VW today. Ordered a 204 Ocean on 1st Feb, had a confirmed build of week 34 but got a cryptic message from the dealer last week from which I understand that my build date is still week 34 but there will be a delay beyond the customary 3 weeks build for as yet an unspecified period. Hence the £500 goodwill gesture. I am keeping my frustration at bay by telling myself that the Cali will arrive at the dealer sometime in the not too distant future. At which time I will allow myself to get excited.
