Cisco says computer chip shortage to last six months
The semiconductor shortage is affecting firms from carmakers to smartphone manufacturers.

Well collected it Friday and drove it home and it has sat down our drive all weekend with lots of our friends visiting to see what we have been waiting 8 months for. The drive home, about 15 miles was great, it’s fabulous to drive, lots of power and very comfortable. Tomorrow it goes for PPF and a ceramic treatment and it will be protected (as best I can) for our first trip 4 May.
Ah Cisco - that takes me back to my working days. Company I worked for is a major Cisco partner globally.![]()

Can I ask how much you are paying for the PPF and ceramic treatment? Also where? Thanks ever so much. I had never sat in one of these or driven one before I placed our order and coming from numerous X5s I did wonder how it would feel but it’s great. Without exception all who have seen it share our view that it is fabulous. i will post some pics when it comes back next weekend. For everyone frustratingly waiting for their order to come through it is well worth the wait but I do sympathise and fingers crossed deliveries times improve soon. Best wishes to all

Yes me to...when you get it the pain and frustration disappears..easy for me to say that now but it is how you will feel.....stick in there ..genuinely it is worth it !!!still waiting for mine but i think its worth it. thanks for that.
Just a little bit more feed back from VW on the progress of your build would surely not be too much to ask.Yes me to...when you get it the pain and frustration disappears..easy for me to say that now but it is how you will feel.....stick in there ..genuinely it is worth it !!!
Totally agree. For the amount of money we’re spending I think they could be more communicative. It can’t be hard to automate an email when the codes change eg build week confirmed.Just a little bit more feed back from VW on the progress of your build would surely not be too much to ask.
I asked our supplying dealer if l could see a similar screenshot showing our California. He said this list is for dealers eyes only! Once the vehicle moves into status 20, in build, it wouldn't appear on the list. So as ours has been lost in Hanover at status 20 for 8 weeks, we will have to wait in ignorance of what has caused the hold up.I have just been in touch with my VW dealer, Listers Worcester they were very helpful and informed me that I am currently at status 10, number 99 on the list and an unconfirmed build of sometime in June. Here's a screenshot of the list that I was sent hopefully someone might find this useful.

I'd check on your status today. After a month at Emden status 38, I was contacted by a business relationship manager on Friday apologising for a lack of movement from Emden but said he was confident of better news in the coming days!?! So...thought I'd check VW chat today and my van was shipped at the weekend to the UK on the Viking Constanza - status 40!?Dealer is in Crawley, so I would assume Sheerness.
Mine was an 8 digit numberWhat does the vehicle order number look like? I was thinking of contacting VW chat, looking at the paperwork my order is just a 5 figure number which I suspect is the dealer PO, not a VW one.
The first time I contacted them, they just used name / postcode etc to find the order and then gave me the 8 digit number for future reference. As you say the 5 digit one is the dealers ref, not VW.What does the vehicle order number look like? Mine has just taken a week to get from Tyne to Liverpool VC if that helps give you an indication of timings.I have just been onto VW chat, finally made it across the pond and now sitting at Grimsby docks. Was sat at Emden for 28 days.
Exciting times ahead, hopefully collect within the next few weeks.
Chin up folks, they will eventually make it into your care. Communication is shocking to say the least, but hopefully the finished products live up to expectations.
Mine was exactly the same...32 days!I have just been onto VW chat, finally made it across the pond and now sitting at Grimsby docks. Was sat at Emden for 28 days.

Ooh, my Coast arrived at Tyne the same day as yours and was going to Liverpool, hopefully it made it today too! Did they say how quickly they would turn it around for pickup?Just had the phone call that my Cali Beach has arrived at the dealers in Liverpool![]()
