Yes I've seen @PhilR 's story and pretty much the same. I'm keen on the new Silver/Grey two tone paint that is now available so I'm going to wait for the this one. It also gives me some more time to save up

Well I'm now back following this thread again. After initially ordering an Ocean last July, I cancelled it in Feb and just rented a van when I needed one. That has now turned into wanting my own again so I'm about to press the button on another order for one of the new two tone colour combinations. Let the new wait begin

Not sure why the drivers side door handle is missing on the configurator. Maybe there is a shortage of handles at the moment

I checked the prices yesterday on configuration and since I ordered mine over 24 month now due to all the hiccups war etc prices have gone up about 12k

I'm thinking of investing in a top half wrap on our Indium Grey but excluding the roof. Possible advantages: 1. Cheaper than a VW two-tone, 2. Wrap will protect bonnet from stone chips, 3.Can be removed for resale.

I was originally going to order a standard colour and then get it wrapped but I know full well as soon as it arrives I will constantly using it. The wrap would never get done.

This is one of their new colour combo's - Reflex Silver/Indium Grey

I do like a two-tone.

Lol. Yep, as it stands now I obviously wish I hadn’t cancelled my previous order, but it is what it is…….a bloody long wait. Oh well, gives us even more time to prep for its arrival (go shopping for stuff)

I have the same feeling but at least I get to spec up a new van. Not doing it again though.

According to California Chris, Bay Leaf Green and Copper Bronze are deleted completely from the whole Transporter range, but as far as I can see, they are still available on the base van. Either way, there will still be requirements for pre-sprayed replacement panels / parts for repair work, so they will still have some paint. It's usual to change some colours each year, so they've done this before and must plan to have a period of switch over.

If anything, orders in the deleted colours would move up the list to clear them I guess?

incidentally, I've had no reply either but wasn't expecting one either.

Given the impending shutdown, I guess its going to be another month before anything changes.

I really hope they can still supply the two tone bayleaf/white....losing that would be really sad...;-(

They deleted the colour from MY23 vans only, all existing orders will be supplied in the colour you paid for.

If its part built awaiting parts it it should already be sprayed, so I would be pretty certain you are going to get what you want.

We got this e-mail from VWUK on Monday (25/7), so maybe something happening:

​ Good news. Your order is moving along nicely and we're busy building your California to your exact specifications. We'll be in touch with more news soon. In the meantime, you can get in touch with your Van Centre below if you need any help.

Build week was wk28 - 11th July. Our order was confirmed as a MY23 build too.

We ordered in Bay Leaf Green and with a towbar, but maybe we are now in the wait queue too? I think the original order colours will still come through though, it's not like there is no more green paint left - at least hope so...

I always thought that it went to Status 20 when they had all the parts to start the build, so I'm not even sure if the van went into build on the 18th May.

Its interesting (!!) that some customers get emails direct from VWUK about their order, while others like me don't.

Its also interesting that yours is described as a MY23 build. Does that mean it gets the upgraded pop-top canvas...? That would be a nice addition...;-)

Yes, their e-mails do seem to be inconsistent. two days after our Dealer advised of the Status 20 build date we got the 'Sorry it's delayed' e-mail from VW - so not entirely joined up.

I'm guessing that the e-mail suggests that there is now a chassis sitting on the line at the factory in anticipation of the post-closedown to actually start the build. So, I'm thinking end of Aug build and delivery sometime end of Sept, assuming no shortage of parts.

The new canvas seems to not be ready until wk39 though, so not really sure on that. One that fits well and doesn't rust seems to be the best hope..

Hoping you get some better, or at least more detailed news, on yours soon. A May build really ought to have progressed by now. Thought that I saw someone had theirs turn up out of the blue the other day, so you never know for sure ...
