This is going to be an extremely boring thread but in an attempt to counteract the negativity:

In the last week I've covered approx 1000 miles, sat in endless hours of traffic jams on the North Circular, transported various kids to football matches, brewed a few cups of coffee & managed one trip to the dump.

My roof hasn't corroded
My DPF hasn't blocked
The oil didn't need topping up
No knocking noises from the suspension.
Sliding door still slides
Even the flexi lamp refuses to snap off despite my best efforts.

Don't really know what else to post, anyone else had a similar week?

Mine did'nt even left my garage this week :D

Boooring....!
:kiss

Just driven from Jersey to Arcachon and the dune du pilat then the Dordogne and back no problems :)

No way , there is defo something wrong on your Cali ....
Go see your VW dealer tomorrow;) bet he can find something strange...

Used everyday. 450 mile round trip to Watergate Bay in Cornwall for the weekend. Everything working as it should. Gave it a good wash and wax today.

The fault on mine seems to have healed itself (sliding door occasional non-electric closure).

Racking my brain to remember anything else that has gone wrong. Maybe it has but I can't remember, that's not unusual

.......

I thought of something; the size of the fuel tank. It holds too much. I've been lost a fortune with the price of diesel nosediving; I need to take financial advice before filling the tank in future ...

I've had a no faults week.

Why waste time being negative when we can either smile or get something else.

Well done Andy for a smile post instead of boring grumbles.

If o was retiered ;)probally be off more frequent also , but duty calls....
And i cycle to work so Cali stays home:thumb

Love life? Love yer van! :D

Just wish we weren't house bound at present due to school commitments :Nailbiting
Making up for it with a jolly good scheme though ;)

Just out of curiosity, how many members on here have Cali's?
Presumably the ones with problems are more evident than the others too?

We've had ours from new, just five years next week. It's done c42,000 miles. There have been a few bits and bobs gone wrong with it, but really nothing major. The climate control went whilst we were in France in August but that turned out to be our fault.
Preston VW van centre were superb whilst we trundled down there during the warranty period. We now take it to Hadwins in Grange for servicing. They too are faultless. Just now splashing out the ÂŁ500 odd quid for cambelt and water pump which does hurt I have to say!

Just thought I'd report on our experience - which really had been marvellous!

Brilliant! Filling up did used to scare me a bit.

Albert hopefully is pressed into service again on Saturday.

Taking Mum home, poor old girl has recovered sufficiently from her stroke to be able to travel again. I can't squeeze her into the BMW so it has to be Albert, which is wonderful as it gives me an excuse to take 5 days to come home :D

Just returned from Sand Tropez, 2500m round trip without a glitch. I know its a T4 but I'm liking the positive vibe :bananadance:bananadance.
Nothings broken because I've fixed it all. :D:D

timely counterbalance folks - was starting to feel like I was just waiting for the inevitable something bad to happen ... despite the realities of rolling miles , comfortable nights ( except the one I forgot about the alarm system and used the key...you all know what happens when you move toward bodily functions about 3am and the motion sensors object - loudly...) six days away on random cruising - one force 9 night ( the one before last...) next to the Swanage steam railway, a couple of shoehorn parkings in Cheddar Gorge, new buckwheat galette recipe successfully flipped ( outside of course...) , cozy evenings with the magic heater and the easy miles with armrests down and a little Chopin -

still, something bad could happen today - just looked out the window to check Herman hasn't imploded....

We are in Yorkshire in ours and it has as ever behaved prettty much impeccably.

Ours has got bird poop on it again today. You'd think VW would have sorted this problem out by now

Have you not got a Brandrup BS 120V - 09?

142 euros, a device for removing bird poop?

Indispensable, I use the Korean equivalent, a sponge, ÂŁ2.99 from Tesco's

Tescos? Posh or what?

I can only afford the Poundshop :(

you don't whinge enough,

If you didn't own a cali then you will have the freedom to whinge about it,

It seems cali owners smile, those without a Cali join the forum to moan about it ...

strange dynamic really...

Come on, you know that's not true.

Anyway, we've found ourselves scanning the ads for another one DESPITE having to sell ours due to dismal reliability.

We owned one or over three years; not like we don't know all about them.

Matt, why do you think that everything posted on this forum is aimed at you?

You had a rubbish time with your Cali when you were here and I was one of your biggest supporters but really Matt, if you have read even my last post to you then you would realise that my remarks are aimed at a general malaise that has struck this forum in recent weeks, and not just about reliability issues.

Your timing to come wandering in mentioning the litany of problems that you had with your vehicle was simply unfortunate,

I (clearly) hadn't realised.
Has Ford/Bilbo/Mercedes installed some moles to cause disruption?

I do find it very odd when people clearly with no intention of never buying (or having owned) a model of car/van become regulars on a forum and spread nothing but negativity. Most odd.
