I gather the new Ocean 6.1 doesn’t come with paddle shift on the steering wheel. I use them a lot on my current cars and wondered if it was possible to retrofit them to the Ocean….?
Hazzydayz do it for the T6 and no doubt will do for the T6.1, for £750+I gather the new Ocean 6.1 doesn’t come with paddle shift on the steering wheel. I use them a lot on my current cars and wondered if it was possible to retrofit them to the Ocean….?
Doh, I was over at Leighton Vans last week and never thought to ask…!Leighton Vans sell replacement carbon fibre/leather wheels with coloured stitching and paddle shifts. Works well on my Coast (which did not come with paddles).

How much do they charge..?If you do have LV fit a new steering wheel I would suggest clarifying their understanding on your original wheel. When I had mine changed they had the view they were keeping my old one; they strip them back and use them as a carcass to build the new carbon fibre/paddle shift version. I didn’t agree with their understanding and got mine back (I paid full price not some P/X deal).
Thanks, just managed to find it on their website. Did you fit it yourself..? How does the paddle shift integrate, if it’s not on the original wheel..?Currently shows £695 inc Vat with the green stitching..
Apart from reverse and drive I’ve never changed gear in my Ocean so the paddles won’t meet my needs, but a heated steering wheel…. Oh boy!!!!Is it possible to retrofit for heated wheel?

Yes. See the T6 ForumIs this a question from my wife, I wonder, working under a nom de plume ?!
I’ll check on Wibutec’s website - probably . . .
Look forward to the result, been researching this myself for a while.Dear all,
I picked up this old thread since I had an interest to look at the possibility of doing a retrofit of steering wheel-mounted gearshift levers onto my bog-standard 2021 California Ocean.
After contacting a couple of UK workshops who do such steering wheel mod's / exchanges, but ask upwards of £600-700, I looked into what's involved technically, found what I believe is a good place to source genuine OE parts, and so have decided to do the job myself.
Today I did a dry run of removing airbag module and MFSW bezel to check the exact spec of my own switch set so that I order the right parts, and the work is eminently do-able, if you are competent and very patient (getting the bezel off cleanly and undamaged is a long and nerve-wracking sweat, but absolutely is possible) !
If anyone is interested to do the same, then once my parts arrive and I've done the installation-proper, then I'll gladly start a new thread and write a comprehensive 'how-to' guide.
Meanwhile, here below are the parts I have ordered today - my wheel switch set unfortunately doesn't have pre-installed connectors for the paddles, so what initially looked like a total spend of €199 (for a replacement new bare wheel with paddles) increases by another €159 for the required set of paddle-compatible MF switches. Anyway, that's still 'only' ca. £320 all-in, which I think is not a bad deal.

Thanks for this WG. The thread suggested that there’s a lack of power supply to feed the heating element in the steering wheel, so more components are required to be swapped out.Yes. See the T6 Forum

T6.1 Heated Steering-Wheel retrofit?
Hi, for my 2023 t6.1 I'd like to upgrade the steering wheel to heated unit. I saw this one in local fb group and am considering placing an order. Being new to all this automotive stuff I would like to ask for some advice. First and foremost, are you able to tell if this will be ok for t6.1 ...www.t6forum.com
I've just received deliveries from companies in the USA, Australia, Spain and Germany. Nothing to do with our relationship with the EU . Just the pathetic company who cannot complete a simple Customs Declaration. It'll be ca. 3 weeks before I can share the whole process, and result: Wibutec don't ship to the UK, so I'm having the parts sent to a tame 'poste restante' address in Italy where I'm going for a business trip in early March, so will collect from there and hand-carry home to fit ! Just love a Brexit workaround !
A friend of mine, a keen Europhile as it happens, set up a very financially successful company in late 2020. Ironically his consultancy advises clients on those simple Customs Declarations for imports and exports to the EU.I've just received deliveries from companies in the USA, Australia, Spain and Germany. Seeing as many companies cope with the changes maybe those companies that can't need a change of employee.A friend of mine, a keen Europhile as it happens, set up a very financially successful company in late 2020. He agrees with you that they’re very simple to fill in, right after the point you’ve worked out exactly which form and which sections of that form are relevant to your trading requirements.
