Finally treated the dog to a beach today and noticed this again. I've seen it a couple of times while the van's been in quarantine and have pushed/clipped it back in. Does this mean it may deploy when I'm not wanting it to..?

I've not seen that before and certainly never had it on my 2 t5s. It may be worth getting it checked out, last thing you want is a randomly deployed air bag.

Sure it's just a cover , and it wont deploy the airbag , but there's something that needs to be checked.

Try to heat up the taps (very gently) and push them outwards. So they can click back in.
They might be disformed by heat or something, and not clicking back in.
We, with our Multivan dashboards (Caravelle for you?), have a silver looking tab and is sturdier than the simple plastic tab you guys have.
Have not had it on mine, but as I said, it's a different material.
