Thanks for that daveyboydanger, we did that on our golf for a £1000 deposit contribution last year and the salesman said we had to wait until after the first two payments. I assumed that it would be the same this time and didn't think to ask if it was any different. Worth doing for the contribution imho.
I see you have also picked up your van recently, congrats. Have you been phoned by VW for the dealer survey yet?
Yeah I got the phone call. 'Extremely satisfied' is what they're looking for. Thankfully guy at Preston is good!

I haven't had the call yet and it's been over a week. I was going to give top marks as it really seems to matter to them and I have been treated really well so no reason not to. Nice colour by the way:thumb

Cheers yorkdubshire. Just had a butchers at yours. Look great! Somehow missed your pics when you first posted them!

Hi,
Thanks to everyone for the help and advice when choosing my new Cali.
I have ordered a 204 Oryx White DSG with a few extras and options.

The order was through drive the deal. (dtd)
I was a little sceptible at first with so much money involved..
But after reading some of the threads and a phone call to dtd I felt comfortable, dtd could not have been more helpful.

After a day I was contacted by James from Eurovans of Crawley. A very enthusiastic and helpful guy..
All of my dealings now are with the dealership. So dtd just arrange the introduction and of course get a fair discount for you in the process.(9%)
James of Eurovans really is knowledgable and very helpful. He even managed to send me a video and show me around a Cali. The Oryx white.

Once the deal was completed (took me a week) a £1k deposit was taken.. James would not take until he was sure I was entirely satisfied and that I understood the options with the Cali.
I am told that the Cali build starts mid April so hopefully it will be with me sometime in May.
I have no hesitation in recommending drive the deal as a way to get a deal.
The same has to be said for James at Eurovans, a really nice guy....

I just can't wait ..... Roll on May...

Thanks again to all.....

Well done! Certainly changed my opinion. Also like your choice of colour. My next step is to view one in that colour and an Indium Grey. I'm in Bristol so Crawley may be an option. I am presuming the black awning?

Yes black awning...
-Tint glass
-6.33 radio (not the sat nav.. Too much money for what it is)
-App connect... As I will use CarPlay for sat nav etc...
-park sensors and camera.
Cruise
Multi func steering wheel.
Alcantara seats
Removeable tow bar
Mud flap.

Crawly is not far.. A 180 mile trip for me... Train ride to collect when ready....
I saw a few in North Wales and test drove a 204 DSG.
I was going to go for a 150 until I drove 204. I am not a quick driver by any means.. But the bigger unit was like velvet to drive... Loved the high up position too.
The grey you mentioned and the beige are also lovely colours...
Grey was my choice until I saw the oryx white.
Think colour is going to be a personal choice when you see.. The flat white is nice too.
I think make a day of it, and enjoy....

Thanks for the info a good spec. Agree wholeheartedly on the bigger engine and like your choices. You are right on the satnav but I may be tempted. Will have another think on the Alcantara seats. Shall also go for the 4 Motion and removable tow bar. Enjoy :)

Agree review of DTD & eurovan.
We ordered our Cali from them last week.
Both good, fast response to any email/ phone call.

Not sure if this is true . Received this email from DTD this morning.

We are emailing to inform you that VW will be increasing their manufacturer list prices across the range on Monday 1st February 2016.

You can beat their price increase if you place your order with us by 11am on Friday 29th January to allow time for your order to be placed with the factory.

We have sent you this email because you have recently taken a quote from our website for a new VW. We hope you have found this information helpful and look forward to being of further assistance to you.

Kind regards,

Broker Team

Have been pricing up with a dealer and comparing with DTD. Just asked the dealer about the price rise and he knows nothing of it.

The VW dealer is only at 7.5% and not convinced he is going to move, so may need to go with DTD myself.

I could only get the dealer to go for 7%. He reckoned they only have 8% discount in the price and they need to make 1% However the dealers selling in quantity through drive the deal are trying to hit a numbers target which they get an extra 2% giving 10% that's why they can offer 9%. They are still only making 1% but on larger numbers. Confused!!!! I am

I think I would be confused too..
My local dealer (100 miles away) I visited to look at the Cali, best he offered was 3.5%. Which we can all agree is not the best.. When I mentioned what discounts are available I never heard from him again???

If you know that dealer and you want to stick with him, then maybe you can give him the opportunity to come close to the same discount by chucking in an option or two and maybe a couple of services...
The dealer has also to make the best deal he can to survive....

Went through the DTD website last night and the discount is as stated. Be aware though that it factors in £750 for taking out the VW finance. Obviously not a problem but just making sure folks are aware. I also appreciate there have been posts on here that say you can take out the finance and then cancel. I was considering going with DTD but am reluctant to get rushed into a purchase on the basis of very short notice of a rise in price. I can understand anyone that does but not for me in my circumstances. Great to have all the info though invaluable for negotiating. Thanks to all for sharing there research.

I used the DTD website price to assist my negotiation with a dealer, he got very close to the DTD price for me (and that was with or without finance)

Finally agreed the deal on a DSG Beach with a bunch of options today. Circa 9% discount direct from the dealer plus the £1k discount as I've currently got a T5 (shuttle with caravelle interior and other bits and bobs). Drive the Deal's price yesterday was indeed higher than they quoted on Friday, so it looks like, even if the dealers weren't reflecting a price rise, DTD are.

Just had an email from DTD and they are now offering 10.25% discount on a 150 Beach.
(Probably includes the £750 deposit contribution)

I got 12% discount in octobre 2015.. it is not in the list for voting stops at 9% ?

Has anyone got a good discount from dealers paying cash for the van, not finance. DTD are as of today quoting 7.5% but that includes £750 deposit contribution so without this the discount is only really 5.5%, which isn't very good!
In short what's the best discount people have achieved from dealers without including the £750, or paying cash?

Thanks

If you want to save I think the way is to take the finance and pay it off within the first 7 days, that way I believe you get the contribution. Also seems dealers offer better deals for finance than cash.

Obviously you'll need to check the T&C's but pretty sure there's no penalty for paying off early.

Got 8% from guy at Preston before the £750.
I didn't want the finance but took it cos I like the £750! Paid it off the week after and was happier!

I think you have 14 days to pay it off (the cooling off period). The dealership at preston wanted me to wait about 7 days until they received the money from VW. I was happy to help them out as I'd got given some free cash. Everyone was happy.

Yep thanks that's what I was thinking. 8% plus £750 is significantly better than the deal with DTD at the moment. I assume if I bought an ex demo I could still get the £750 bonus on finance?

Similar to Dave. Just over 8%, free bumper protector thrown in and then the £750 came later when we sorting finance.

Saw you Dave when I was visiting VW to sign finance getting onto the M6. Your T6 is not hard to notice, looked good! Collected mine today in a subtle Mojave.

Yep I like the yellow. Going to look at one in real life then have to decide on ordering new or ex demo.

got 7% from dealer but going down the finance route for the £750 and also the service plan you can take out with it as well. Spoke to vw finance and you can pay it off within 14 days and only pay the daily interest over this and its a bigger block of interest you pay. Also paying off wont affect the service plan. So its a no brainer for us. Also going to get the 2 year extended warranty. Hoping to collect in next week / 10 days.
